Need some help with a freelance article.
Anyone remember any anime series that had pachinko machines somewhere in there?
I think GTO and I'm not positive but I think either Boogiepop or Lain had a reference?
Any help would be appreciated.

Maison Ikkoku.
This thread should be in General-Anime.

In the second half of Witch Hunter Robin, one of the characters goes to a pachinko parlour regularly as a place to get some information.

Possibly Midori Days. Ebichu has Mah-Jong (Ebichu cleans up)

I'll throw in one title for you - Ashita no Joe: the titular character, Joe Yabuki, occasionally frequents a pachinko parlour to win some groceries, either for sale or for consumption.

Salaryman Kintaro has scenes that play at a Pachinko parlor.
I'm not entirely sure about GokuSen and Yu Yu Hakusho. GokuSen features at least a pachinko ball being thrown in the first episode... and I remember some students wanting to get into a parlor, but being under age. That could have been either anime, or maybe another one I can't remember right now.

GTO did indeed have a pachinko reference in episode 30 or 31 (I believe) when he attempts to swindle the parlor by using a magnet. He of course does this in an attempt to be able to pay for the trip to Okinawa.

Yu Yu Hakusho did (at least in the manga) as that is where Yusuke hangs out when he returns to his body while still dead around chapter 9 or so. This scene was cut out of the anime though.

I think there's a later episode during the Sensui arc when Yusuke gets mad at the others and goes off to a Pachinko parlor to unwind.

I was about to mention WHR myself. It was Nagira (sp?) who went to the pachinko parlor. His secretary bugged him unmercifully about it, among other things.

Episode 1 of Invasion of the Booby Snatchers (a hentai series) featured a (non-sex) scene in a pachinko parlor, which did a good job at showing the general feel (how to win, the accumulation of balls, and the implied exchange of the prizes for money at a location separate from the pachinko parlor); see chapter 4, 0:13–1:16 (whole time: 11:18–12:23) of the Kitty Media release. Also, in episode 21 of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (http://www.tv.com/ghost-in-the-shell-stand-alone-complex/c--left-behind-trace-eraser/episode/316680/recap.html) features a scene of "Pachinko Parlor Ishikawa". This also appears briefly in an earlier episode, though I do not recall which one.
