Voice actors for the comedy horror anime Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro reunited on Tuesday (Aug 8) as they participated in a recording session for a special radio program titled "Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro All Night Nippon," to be broadcast August 12 in line with the release of 3 DVD sets of the anime.
The anime is based on a manga series by Shigeru Mizuki. The manga was turned into animated episodes in four stages, in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. Altogether, more than 300 episodes were broadcast.
The regular voice actors for the anime, who had not seen each other for some time, appeared to enjoy the reunion. "It's like we're suddenly back in those times," Nozawa said. Tanonaka added, "The rest of me is getting a bit rickety, but I can still say my voice is all right."
