You know, the little 3-minute thing where Chiyo brings a video camera to school....
I saw this again today for the first time since it was new, and I wonder if it exists on any of the licensed Azumanga Daioh videos, in any region. Because it's pretty damned funny IMO. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

It's an extra on volume 6 (R1). It's called the Super Short Movie or something like that.

The Very Short Movie is something else. About the same length, but it's mainly a reworking of serveral scenes from the TV series with a new Osaka daydream mixed in.

You're thinking of something else. What's on the R1 singles release is the short movie that recaps some of the early episode jokes, with a slightly different animation style. GanChan is talking about the Web Daioh, which is not on the R1s.

The Short Movie predates the TV series, doesn't it? I got the feeling it was a sort of pilot episode.

Yeah, it does (I think), so in retrospect the word "recap" was a unintentional bad choice. I just meant that it's made up of a few of the jokes that would be early in the series.
For what it's worth, I like the animation style the series eventually got better. The short movie looked a bit more detailed, I guess, but not in a way I liked much.

Just like everything else, it's on YouTube.

Haven't seen Web Daioh in a long time. Only once when the anime club I attend showed it. It's even shorter than the very short movie /images/graemlins/happy.gif, and another interesting thing about it is that it has a different voice cast .
