With series ending at Episode 50 which completes the entire series, I was wondering if ANN section on Blood+ says that there is Episode 51 and 52. Does anybody know if the information is accurate?

[/ QUOTE ]When the series started, it was scheduled for 52 episodes. About episode 40, it was changed to 50 episodes. There are many theories of why the episode count was changed. The writers were able to fill the whole series in only 50 episodes, they are planning to release 2 DVd only episodes, and they are planning to release the last two episodes as OVA, just to mention a few. We won't know till they release all the series on DVD. The official website doesn't seem to mention anything about OVA yet. I think a second season is not far behind, probably next year.

I can't wait for more Blood+, a Movie, OVA or a second season will make me extremely happy, There were many unanswered question with the end of the first season.
The fate of many character is only subtly discussed and we are teased. One of the subtle tease that I hate the most was the relationship of Mao and Okamura. It is mentioned that Mao is going the middle east with Okamura. It is not said if they are romanticaly involved or just a professional relationship. Okamura hinted to Mao that she should become a reporter during one of the episodes when Mao was debating about how she couldn't do anything to help.
Kaori seems to be going to be a doctor, as she is asking Julia for references. These little subtle things during the party at the restaurant might have a deeper meaning that just random comments. I really see Mao returning in a second season as an aggresive reporter following whatever big news happen during the second season.

Well, I checked the R2 for Blood+. They only show up to Volume 11 which covers episode 38-42. They are putting 4 episodes per Volume, so if they keep that rate there will be 13 volumes with 50 episodes. Now it is wait and see if they release 13 or 14 volumes.

I doubt there will be a 2nd season... since saya sleeps for so long.

sides it'll be weird to have 3 girls all look alike since the twins look like a younger version of saya.

prequel would work... the story of what happened to saya and diva's mother and how she became a mummy.

The only things left from this story that is of any interest to me is just who was Nathan really and the backstory for lewis... would be nice to see him before he blimped out, how he came into contact with red shield and why he took the name lewis.

Never underestimate the power of making a profit. Blood+ is a huge franchise right now.

They left too many things open ended and ready for a sequel or prequel. Regardless, we only have to wait to see who is wrong or right. I really hope I am right because I want more Blood+ .

I dont think that there'll be anymore Blood+.

They could have ended the series in less than 50 eps. They dragged the story too much. There weren't many surprises at the end (did anyone seriously expect Saya to kill the babys? It was obvious that they would never go that far.). At least they didnt go for the expected 30 years later scene with Saya reawakening and an older Kai.

You are the first person that I hear say that, Most People that I have read commenting think they rushed the end too much. I think they should have spent at least a whole episode on the epilogue and that is probably what was cut at the end. They added the epilogue at the end of episode 50.

I never heard anybody mentioning the posibility of them showing An epilogue with Saya waking up and an older Kai waiting for her. So maybe that is what they are planning for the OVA in December. I hope that you are wrong, because a second series would really make my day.

I wasnt talking about the end. I meant the whole development in the last arc(s).

It was ok, although too clichee for my taste and some some other things.
btw. is Saya supposed to live forever (if nobody kills her)? I thought she might die when her head was turning at the end. But she was just getting sleepy. I wonder if she could get pregnant by one of her nieces chevaliers.

Yes, Saya is immortal as far as we know. She doesn't age thus no death from "Natural" causes. She can die by extrame trauma, unlike the Chevaliers which only can die by being behaded, burnt or Poisoned by the opposite queen's blood. The immortality is a double edge sword, she spends most of her time sleeping. I would say that chevaliers get be deal out of it.

Actually, I had a bit of a sort of observation as well about the end run of Blood+

Am I the only one that found the final appearance of Solomon more than a bit unsatisfying? I mean, I know he was about to die, but the fact we didn;t see it bugs me. It puts me too much in mind of what happened to James(Started to decay, but was somehow saved and 'rebuilt' by Amshel using the corpse corps body). I really would have liked more closure on that score.

Overall, great show. Bit iffy around the middle, but it was very good on the whole.

So does anyone know about the plot of the OAVs? I think we can easily have another 50 episode series sequel with the twins as the new lead characters.

They have not yet announced any OVA or Sequel. The OVAs were just a rumour because the show was first shchedule for 52 episodes.
