I'm not sure where would be the appropriate place to put this, so I just put it in General Anime for the moment.

I'm going to be doing a Japanese presentation on freeters and want to show some short clips of movies/anime/manga which feature freeters as a character. It doesn't have to be a main character, as long as they are:
- between the ages of 18-30
- not students or fulltime workers
- there is an ep showing them at a part-time job (preferred)

They only series with a freeter as significant character I can think of is Golden Boy, but I am not going to be showing that (for obvious reasons. ^^;;). I was also thinking of Yukito from Air as well.

Does anyone have any suggestions on series (doesn't have to be anime, dramas/manga/game shows OK) or other ways I can make my presentation more interesting (it has to go for 10-15 minutes)?

Thanks in advance.

Kino from Kino's Journey

that's the only one I can think of... all the others I know of are students

There's Kitsune from Love Hina, however I can't think of anywhere in either the Manga or Anime where she's shown at work.

She's a freelance writer...but I don't recall it ever being shown where she is actually working (presumably she'd work in her room). I believe that still qualifies under that definition, but presumably it's either enough to cover the rent, or her parents pay the rent.

Edit: I also suppose it depends on what point of the story (manga wise) we're discussing...she does change occupations.

Hmm, I'd suggest Mikiko Oguro (aka Kuromi) from Animation Runner Kuromi, but she doesn't quite fit the exact qualities you mentioned. She is 20 years old, is not a student, but her job is full time.

So almost a perfect fit, but not quite...

Incidentally, if you've never seen Animation Runner Kuromi 1 or 2, they are short 40 minute OVA mockumentaries about working in the Anime industry, so 90% of each episode shows her at work.

I guess it won't work for you, but I just thought I'd throw that out there.

Edit: upon further review, Kuromi is definitely not a freeter, but rather what a freeter should aspire to be. /images/graemlins/sweat000.gif
