The third round of the Girls Team Series Championships will weed out the weak in the Wallflower archetype!
Warning! Warning! These will only be guidelines and coaches (and voters) may take them as they will.
Wallflower Pool - Round Three
Wallflower: Shy girls with a low self esteem are typical of this archetype. They tend not participate in activities at a social event because of fear or unpopularity. (http://home.comcast.net/~ape2020/Wallflower_Pool_-_3rd_Round.pdf)

Kasumi Tendo, Ranma 1/2 vs. Mikuru Asahina, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - Mikuru is love.
Rei Ayanami, Neon Genesis Evangelion vs. Kisa Sohma, Fruits Basket - Actually, sort of hard. I have seen both shows, but Rei sticks in my mind much more than Kisa, who had a relatively small role in her show compared to Rei in Evangelion. Also, I don't hate Rei like many others say they do. In the end, I gave Rei the nod.
Shinobu Maehara, Love Hina vs. Robin Sena, Witch Hunter Robin - Abstain for the same reasons as the other Robin matchups.
Nodoka Miyazaki, Mahou Sensei Negima vs. Tsukasa, .hack//SIGN - Have seen neither, abstain.
Melfina, Outlaw Star vs. Souseiseki, Rozen Maiden - Sousuiseki? Is that some sort of love child of Suiseiseki and Souseiseki? =P INCEST!! Anyways, Souseiseki wins easily.
Yuki Nagato, Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya vs. Hinata Hyuga, Naruto - I like Hinata but Yuki also wins easily.
Saki, Steel Angel Kurumi vs. Maggie Mui, Read or Die TV - Seen neither, pass.
Kanako Ohno, Genshiken vs. Lain, Serial Experiments Lain - Lain is Wallflower Queen, or damn near it, so, she wins.
Some good matchups.

Nice to see Kisa is at least a little ahead of Rei, now. Dangit, hope Yuki can beat Hinata, too.

Not for Rei it isn't nice. Honestly, I don't see how people can claim to be such Rei haters. And, I just checked the dictionary for wallflower, which directed me to introvert, and there was actually a picture of Rei in there!
Of course, Wikipedia defines wallflower as:
In social situations, a wallflower is a slang term used to describe shy or unpopular individuals who do not socialize or participate in activities at social events.
So, the question you have to ask yourself... Can a wallflower ever NOT be unpopular?
Uh... Never mind me. I just don't get most people, and their different tastes.

*******Kasumi Tendo, Ranma 1/2*******

*******Mikuru Asahina, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya*******
As much as I love Kasumi, the Mikuru-beam does it again.
*******Rei Ayanami, Neon Genesis Evangelion*******
-----VS-----
*******Kisa Sohma, Fruits Basket*******
Kisa - how the heck I didn't think of picking her before is a mystery...I suck...
*******Shinobu Maehara, Love Hina*******
-----VS-----
*******Robin Sena, Witch Hunter Robin*******
In reality, this should be no contest. But that doesn't happen so I'll just vote for Shinobu and hope for the two Akamatsu wallflowers to face in the final four...
*******Nodoka Miyazaki, Mahou Sensei Negima*******
-----VS-----
*******Tsukasa, .hack//SIGN*******
See above. Give the love to Honya-chan.
*******Melfina, Outlaw Star*******
-----VS-----
*******Sousuiseki, Rozen Maiden*******
Outlaw Star was one of the first televised animes I saw in the UK, and whilst Melfina doesn't strike me as a typical wallflower, she's still a better pick for me than Sousuieki.
*******Yuki Nagato, Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya*******
-----VS-----
*******Hinata Hyuga, Naruto*******
Am I only one whose gonna wonder what the heck at the end of this round and see the very plausible board of Hinata losing three in a wallflower category? Albeit, I must confess, I absolutely adore Yuki so won't be too upset...just a stunning possibility...
*******Saki, Steel Angel Kurumi*******
-----VS-----
*******Maggie Mui, Read or Die TV*******
Maggie - It would have been fun seeing her against Sakaki if she was in wallflower...
*******Kanako Ohno, Genshiken*******
-----VS-----
*******Lain, Serial Experiments Lain*******
Lain - I love Ohno to bits...but...it's Lain. It's the bear outfit. Does it every time.

You aren't the only one as I know of at least one other that had Kisa as a possible pick. Adding even more to this is Kisa was taken in the fifth round. Either everyone was waiting until the fifth for thier wallflower pick or everyone didn't think much of Kisa being a very minor character.

After seeing Fruits Basket run the table in the BOS tourney, I didn't think twice about snatching Kisa up once I thought about her.
Ayame to be a relatively minor character too, but he blew the competition away. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

I have to find it interesting that 2 of the top 3 wallflowers were taken in round 5.
My pick (Lain) was one of the last 5 draftees.

Well, now that I look at it, I actually took Kisa in round 4, but the point still remains pretty much the same...

Kisa was who, the pig-girl that likes Kyo? I thought that she was only really shy around Kyo, but not really shy around Tohru or the others. But, It's been 2-3 years since I watched Fruits Basket, and while it was good, it's very low on my favorites list.

That's Kagura (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kagura_Sohma) , who was a boar, and is not a wallflower at all. Kisa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kisa_Sohma) is the tiger that talks to almost nobody... very, very much a wallflower.

Oh, that makes much more sense, except that she is even more of an extremely minor character.

True, but she is still a perfect wallflower from a popular show, where minor character Ayame easily won the bishounen pool of the boys tournament (beating main character Yuki as well), Momiji - a middle character dominating the Youthful pool and even Shigure got to the finals of the ecchi (and if Tohru hadn't been against Belldandy, she would have certainly won 3 matches in angelic as well) and Kisa has done well in tournaments in the past (specifically both moe tournaments on AnimeonDVD and ANN) - she's only in two episodes yes, but she's still a character that can make an impression on people, and considering the manga gives Kisa more exposure as well (anime based yes, but Kisa is no different in the manga) I would actually be surprised if Kisa lost to Rei in terms of that she fits wallflower in the 'shy withdrawn' element a lot more than Rei does.

Two things I need to say:
1. Actually, it's THREE episode that Kisa appears in (the one that introduces her, the one where Tohru gets sick, and the one that introduces Hiro).
2. The mention of the ANN moe tournaments does remind me of something: if the current results of the third round remain the same in the end, then it looks like the Wallflower finals will have some shades of one of the more interesting "block finals" matches at the ANN tournament, as two kawaii girls will end up facing each other again.
