nipple (?) ADDED to the tankoubon of NegiMa #16

In "Mahou Sensei NegiMa!" 16 which came out yesterday in Japan, compared with the version that appeared in Shounen Magazine there is a small round spot added to Takane's naked body in chapter 141 which looks suspiciously like a nipple. However, upon closer inspection it looks like part of the magic that Takane was hit with, and doesn't really look like a very convincing nipple.

According to Ken Akamatsu's blog, they're still trying to figure out what went wrong. His assistants deny adding it, but he says it's possible someone added it and forgot about it, or an editor added it or it was there all along but was removed for the Shounen Magazine version. But he states that the screen tone in the spot on Takane isn't the one that's used for nipples, it's used for magic particles.

edit: Whoops, it's #16, not #17. Got confused since it came out on the 17th...

Akamatsu has a screen tone for nipples? When does that get used? His women always have no nipples, or conveniently hidden ones (with nipples being a natural hair attractant). /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif

It most likely means that there's one or more screen tones used for nipples in manga in general.

Also, it's possible Akamatsu-sensei has used nipples before, I'm guessing that Itsu Datte My Santa had them since the anime did, but the manga isn't currently available commercially.

I wouldn't mind if Ken Akamatsu wanted to add nipples, but I wouldn't want Del Rey to add them.

Are there pictures of the 'nipple' in question anywhere. I have a feeling this will be corrected by the time Del Rey gets their materials.

This probably was a prank from someone in the chain that takes from the mangaka to the final Tankouban. Who knows how many hands the masters have to go through before it goes to the printers.

It would be a very bad prank since it could get both Akamatsu and Kodansha into trouble. But this will probably be solved with an official apology.
