View Full Version : R3 Gunbuster 2 - how many volumes?

Checking JSMall, GB2 has only 5 volumes released so far while all 6 have been released on R2J, vol 8 only having a single 31 min episode.
Is JSMall up to date, or have only 5 vols of 6 been released anywhere so far?
BTW R3 is DTS while R2J is only DD5.1
According to Proware's site, vol 6 with box will be released on November 30.

Keep in mind that BV will probably release Gunbuster 2 on R1 as well, so you might be better off waiting. I'm also very skeptical about whether that DTS track really will be any better than the DD one.

It may not be any better, but I doubt it'll be much worse. And at the price of the R3s compared to the R2s, it's a steal to get the R3s.
Though I certainly agree that Gunbuster 2 will see release in the US.

Proware's DTS on Evangelion TV was certainly no worse than the 5.1 that Gainax & ADV used. The DTS sounds a little richer in fact.
Are there any extras on GB2 R2J, on any particular volume which R1 might not get?

I don't know but they only extra listed on CD Japan is:
"Diebuster TV" (27 min)
Of course, that extra seems to be the length of the disc so I'm not even sure it IS an extra.

If I remember correctly, Diebuster TV included some interviews with the staff. I think they were great extra clips to have. Vol.1 came with the cell phone strap and vol.2 came with the magnet thing for first press. There were two diebuster TV (I think vol.2 and 4). I'm not sure, but I think vol.1 also came with something. Vol.6 came with the movie trailer. R2 DD5.1 is actually pretty nice when I listen from my surround system. R2 didn't have a box. If you are looking for a "reasonable" price, I guess R3 and R1 are the way to go. I'm sure BV will do a great job if they ever release it. Also, R3 (Korean) is coming soon, so you really have lot of choices here.
The DieBuster TV is awesome because it features Nono's seiyuu cosplaying as... Nono /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif
