View Full Version : Ordering (game consoles) from Amazon?

I was just curious... Has anyone around these parts actually ordered a game console from Amazon? I'm considering it mostly because I can avoid sales tax and it ships for free, but I'm still undecided. If someone around here has ordered a game console from Amazon, was it packaged well? I guess I'm just being cautious, but I think anyone would be.
Thanks in advance for any and all help. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

Never bought a console before, but I have purchased games which came in great condition. I've gotten about 3-4 games from Amazon. Mostly Gundam games.

I've never ordered a video system from Amazon, all the orders I have done with them (mostly dvds and a couple of books) have come in pristine condition.

I once ordered a CD from them, no problems. The good thing(if it's good) is that they have warehouses all over the country, so mine came from Kentucky. As for a console, I'd have no trouble ordering from Amazon. But you better brush up on the warranty and return policy.

I've never ordered a game console from Amazon but I've bought all sorts of stuff from books to video games to computer parts and more. It always comes in perfect condition. I've never had to return anything to Amazon, but if I did, Amazon's return process is fairly easy and straight forward.

I ordered Phoenix Wright from the not too long ago. Excellent service, product came in tip-top shape. Everything else I've ever ordered from Amazon came just fine from them. I'm assuming consoles will be no exception, especially since I'm hoping to get a Wii though them.

I've never had a problem with Amazon and their shipping quality is usually par for the course. (doesn't beat Rightstuf's shipping quality, just as an example of exceptional quality)

I have ordered a game console from Amazon. When the PS2 was first coming out, they had it up for preorder, and my girlfriend preordered it and a bunch of games. Well, the games came, but because of shortages, the system was delayed for months, so I had her cancel it and went for a few mornings to the local BB at opening to get one.
Other than that, I've never had a problem ordering from amazon, and their packaging has been pristine. They also may have overhauled their preordering system since then, just letting you know in case you're thinking of getting one of the new systems from there.

MY bro in-law Scott got his 360 from Amazon, and it works just fine and was packaged as good as you will prolly get from anywhere else. So I say go for it.

I ordered a 360 launch Bundle from them back when they were Amazon/Toys R Us and I didn't have any problem what so ever. It was packaged very well. I've used amazon a lot in the past and have only had the occasional problem. Mostly with hardcover books being shrink wrapped so tight that they are damaged.

Thanks for the replies. I was asking since I'm going to buy my Xbox 360 from Amazon, so now I can rest easy. I had ordered DVDs from them in the past and had no problems whatosever, but consoles are a whole different subject altogether. Should be great when I get my hands on my very own 360. I'm still trying to figure out what games to get. It's so hard! /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif
