I just picked this up for the XBOX yesterday, and already I've spent about 10+ hours on the thing. The graphics are out of this world, as are the vehicles. All I need now, is the Nissan Skyline R-34, and I'm set!

Anyone else pick this up yet? Which car do you like to use? Who's your favorite wingman?

I'll sum up most of what's going on at gamefaqs:

The final boss race is rather hard- take shortcuts and play dirty to win.

Use speed to win drift races.

There are many cars that aren't unlocked for career. Some can only be used in quick play or in the challenge series events.

Muscle cars' tails swing out really easy. If you want more stability-<span style='color:#dddddd;background:#dddddd'> tune tires for full grip and tune suspension towards understeer. </span>

The game is ok, but I'm glad I only rented it because most of the cars I really wanted to play as aren't available in career mode.

I have to know. Is the Nissan Skyline available to play in Career Mode?

I found the answer to my Skyline question, and spent the last couple of hours racing with it........much easier to handle than the Corvette. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

No idea why, but I'm debating buying this on PS3 or 360. What's putting me off is that most reviews I've read say it's far, far too easy. Any truth in this?

Well, two days of owning it, and I'm already towards the end of Career mode. But then again, I've been playing it like crazy, and I love racing games, so don't judge on my account. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Its easier than Need for Speed Most Wanted (IMO this mainly due to the fact that Police Chases arent needed to go thorugh the career mode) but theres a lot more other stuff along side the career mode. Plus theres this "Reward Card" thign that gives you new stuff when when you do certain things in the different modes. I got it on Tuesday and im apparently 62% through the career mode, but only 20% throguh the game in total.

Oh while im at it /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif

This (http://ianc14.livejournal.com/115946.html#cutid1) is the first car i used for carrer mode, a Mazda RX8 (i think)

This (http://ianc14.livejournal.com/116642.html#cutid1) is the seond car i got, a Mazda RX7. I love this shot because of the dam in the background and the way im sort of drifting.

Finally (http://ianc14.livejournal.com/117107.html#cutid1) my current car, a Nissan Skyline R-34 /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

I love the fact you can take pics and upload them to the NFS website with the 360 version /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif

Of course, now i have Gears of War i dont think ill be playing this for a lil while...

Nice looking cars, Ian. You've pretty much just matched what I've been driving, except I threw a Mitsubishi Eclipse in there between the RX-8 and RX-7. Once I unlocked the RX-8, it was Buh-Bye to the Eclipse.

Now I need the McClaren....but I need cash!!!

Since that's the case, can you recommend a good force-feedback wheel for that game/console? I don't know much about the 360 as far as either hardware or software, but I may end up with one at some point in the distant future.

I've never been able to get into driving a car with a small stick or d-pad. I've got a Logitech wheel for the PS2, which has been quite nice. My favorite driving controller was the old PS1 Namco NegCon, though...

Damn, I'm actually being sold on this game. Never thought I'd see the day I'd be contemplating picking up a NFS game /images/graemlins/sweat000.gif
How deep is the customisation btw? Oh yeah and what about the drifts. How good/easy to pull off are they?

I don't have the 360. Just the regular XBOX. And I don't use wheels either. Just the regular controllers. /images/graemlins/happy.gif

I was thinking about getting Carbon. But I'm not sure if it supports Force Feedback. I don't see the emblem on the back of the package, just "Wheel" so I'll pass just to be on the safe side.

Okay, now I have a reason to buy an Xbox360 as soon as Forza2 comes out.

Yes and its a nice solid wheel, great for PGR3 and Test Drive Unlimited. Not so great for arcade style games like NFS or RR6.

Does Test Drive Unlimited support force feedback? If so, I think that game is on sale this Friday at Best Buy. I might have to pick it up.

EDIT: I just looked on Microsoft's site, it says that support for that game is coming soon. And that Carbon is supported too, but I don't think I'll get that one.

I just finished up the Career Mode on Carbon. It's no joke that it's a tough challenge to say the least. It's a four-stage race, and you'd better be on top of your game if you even want to come close!

Now I have to work on the Challenge Series, and play the quick races. /images/graemlins/happy.gif

I think i encountered a really weird glitch today - This is (http://img320.imageshack.us/my.php?image=renderphotogx5.jpg) what my car looked like after a particularly long Police Chase. As you can see, bits of it has gone see through! :surprised:

I don't think that's happened on my copy...keep in mind I have the PS2 version
