R.I.P Ken Ishikawa

I was never a big mecha guy(old school mecha), but I sure knew who Ken Ishikawa was. The man behind Getter Robo and a integral part of Cutey Honey has sadly passed away according to ANN.

This is an incredibly sad day for anime. Ken Ishikawa wasn't so much Go Nagai's protege as he really was Go Nagai's right hand man, in fact, a lot of the things that Go Nagai gets credit for, Ishikawa would really deserve some credit too. He really created Getter Robo which was the first of the transforming robots and much of his work was very dark, brooding, and violent.

RIP Ken Ishikawa. Old school fans lose another master. Getter is one of my favourite anime/manga.
