I'm an extremely casual PC gamer as I personally feel that the genres available for PC gaming is very limited. The PC gaming arena is too full of RTS, FPS, MMO, and simulation. I tend to only play the RPGs for PC. My console/handheld gaming is MUCH more diverse but I can't do that for PC.
Thus, I love the Neverwinter Nights and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic series'.

I am definitely a PC gamer. Currently, I've been playing Titan Quest aka Diablo clone. I bought the game from Best Buy when they had it on sale for $25. I've enjoyed Diablo 2 in the past, but hated doing the same runs over and over to find better equipment or get a slight amount of exp. The week I've played TQ, I still haven't gotten past the first world. I was hoping there would be a stronger online gaming community like battle.net, but boy was I wrong. I've just been doing it solo with my Spirit guy which gets boring pretty fast without a group to interact with. There is only so much pointing and clicking that I tolerate before going on to something else.

Not for me, no. PC games don't tend to be the type of games I like.

Several thinhs make me like PC games most.
1) I hate control/joypads. Have big hands & prefer using my trackball which is ergonomically much more comfortable.
2) I like hotkey option choice, not scrolling through emblems.
3) Becoming moot now, but storing scores & situations etc on large capacity media is desireable.
4) No wait for the next console. Plug & install a new card, & lots of choice. High resolution OK smaller screens than LCD TVs, but I play on a desktop so sit close enough.
5) New levels/variations (as for Sims) on some titles.
6) Console-also titles are less liable to be kiddified , & soemtimes have PC exclusive extras.
I've been a PC gamer far longer than I've owned consoles. My current PC game is F.E.A.R. The expansion pack was good in a "more of the same" way but really didn't do much with the story. It also makes me look forward to upgrading my computer next year... F.E.A.R. really kicks my poor old PC's butt. /images/graemlins/sweat000.gif

This is probably why I struggle with some PC games. Having grown up as a console gamer (parents couldn't afford a PC until I was in high school and they bought the cheapest PC at Best Buy so the most it could play was things like Diablo) I like controllers and I'm not used to keyboard shortcut buttons. I have a PC USB controller that is in the same style as a non-dual shock Playstation controller (same shape and amount of buttons). I use it a lot when playing PC games, unless the game is very mouse/GUI heavy like Neverwinter Nights and Star Wars KotOR.

I still PC game a lot because I like to play those sickeningly long strategy games like Civ and MOO, and Hearts of Iron II, and so on and so forth. I have the past year gotten pretty heavy into my GC, which is probably quite weird since I am pushing 40 and you'ld think these console games with their Hand/eye requirements would kick my ass. Definitely been tons of fun though. TONS.
Funny thing, have any of you ever played the Harry Potter series of games? I have the first 3 or 4 for the PC,and they were pretty good. I got one for the GC, to see the differences and was quite shocked by how different they were. I really had trouble with the controls for a while, and a LOT of the things you do in the games is completely different. I like the PC ones better so far, but some of the things in the GC version, like the flying around the school, are really superior. It's the kind of situation where you wish you could cram the best parts of each into one game which would truly rock.

I have Harry Potter Quidditch Cup. I have it for Gamecube though, not PC. It is insanely fun for whatever reason.

Well, for everyone's development stalking pleasure: (I can't be the only one that does this right?)

Thar it be, an RPG with the oddest potential out there for the PC. So free it is seemingly a federal crime for them to charge for it. Once it gets stable enough to my liking(plus I don't wanna have to go through character wipes) I'll jump into it...providing my PC holds up.
My current PC works decent...but not so much for gaming. Geforce FX 5200...that should speak volumes.

Speaking of PC gaming, is anyone else here really excited about Team Gizka's KotOR 2 restoration project? They're getting really close and I'm looking forward to it being finished. I'll give me an excuse to play through the game again, but as dark side this time.
For those who don't know what I'm talking about, 'tis here (http://team-gizka.org/) where you shall find the info.

The only game I play most of the time on my PC is albatross18 which is a almost free online golf game. I say almost free because even though it is free to sign up and play there are some items in the game that require you to pay real money for them (well they wouldn't be able to maintain the servers they use if they didn't charge for some things but you have to pay for the in game credits to buy those items)
