I registered my computer email account to my Wii and replied to the message the Wii send to my email from my computer. I noticed the Wii disc drive glowed blue until I checked the reply on my Wii.

Also, if anyone is curious, the way they did it was through email. Wii email is w(insert friend code number)@wii.com. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif The good thing is you don't have to worry about spam. No one can send your Wii messages unless you register their Wii number or email address (for non-Wii email) on your Wii.

As for the e-mail, I can use regular e-mail to send messages to the account but I won't be able to check my messages except for on my Wii?

They should still get to you, even if the console is off.

The messages will be sent to you. You just won't receive them until you turn on the console and they've been downloaded.

As far as I know, e-mail sent to the Wii address can only be checked on the Wii at this time. That said, I've linked the Wii shop with My Nintendo login so they could have a possible tie-in at some point where you log onto your My Nintendo account and can access Wii e-mail (please note this is pure speculation for now).

Because a user must register you on their console and you need to register them.

It's definitely not instant, sometimes it takes a day or so, which is odd. It's Connect24, right?

Think I might turn on mine as well, being that it doesn't get that hot if the console is in a vertical position.

On that note, I take it you need to "turn on" Connect24 in order to allow your Wii to be put in standby?
I have allowed it on my US Wii (and so I can press the on/off button for an amber light or hold it for a red light) but haven't fully configured my Japanese one (all menu settings are in Japanese) and can't seem to be able to put it into standby mode...

I was going to post my Conduit code, but I've only been able to successfully play one map. I've tried to play quite a few and every time I get stuck somewhere outside the map and it all messes up.

I mean, honestly, I got a console so I didn't have to worry about things going wrong ala computer gaming, but alas it wasn't to be...

I've completed nearly 40% of the game already though.

I may be wrong but I thought that The Conduit uses system codes not friend codes. In other words it simply uses the codes we swapped and not a separate one like Smash and Mario Kart use. Granted I don't know 100% yet since I don't have it yet.

I read that as well, about something, but I don't think it was The Conduit. At least when I loaded up the multiplayer it gave me a friend code...
