Well, on this order I applied 10000 points, which translates into 10000 yen off the price. The shipping was 10350, so that nearly covered the shipping. I usually let the points accumulate over several orders though, don't remember how long I've been saving to get those 10000.

I had to cancel and redo my Chibi Maruko-chan order because the I'm be gone when they'd attempt delievery since I paired it with the new Pokemon DVD. However, when pairing it with any other DVD it would arrive it two shipments, also when gone. So I ordered it by itself with fast shipping. Then later amazon sends me an email with a shipping refund because my copy wasn't ready to ship this morning. So I'm PRAYING it comes tomorrow.

Received my shipment today. My Affair of Nolandia came with a box with sufficient space for two more discs, while Flight 005 was just a regular sized keepcase. This leads me to believe that I either missed out on some limited stuff with Flight 005 (CD Japan doesn't mention anything limited for that disc though), or the extra space is there for some other disc. If the first, what did I miss out on, and if the second, what am I supposed to fill that extra space with? :)

Ah right, this one (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=BCBA-367). Somehow I missed it when I searched earlier. I've never watched DP before (took a chance on the box set, but I generally like this kind of show from this period) so I wasn't aware that there was another movie. So... how does the movie DVD compare to the new discs? I notice it's pretty old, and 4:3 (according to CDJ) - is this its OAR? There haven't been any announcements of a re-release?

CDJapan has it wrong: the R2 of the movie is anamorphic 16:9. The movie looks great, ab-fab. The OAR is up for debate because the movie was animated in full frame (the Streamline dub tape uses 4:3) but the theatrical and Japanese optical disc releases (LD and DVD) were widescreen. Just like every other Disney and anime movie from the 80s and 90s. (sigh...)

The problem for buyers is that ADV's R1 is pretty much the R2 with English subtitles and hard-pressed English credits. The only things the R2 has the R1 doesn't is a different cover and a booklet with movie information and all the various promo artwork done for it. I suppose it's also worth mentioning the R2 menu plays the full length English language version of "Pas de Deux" the ending theme song.

The OAR is up for debate because the movie was animated in full frame (the Streamline dub tape uses 4:3) but the theatrical and Japanese optical disc releases (LD and DVD) were widescreen. What do you mean? It was already remastered back when BV released it 6 years ago on DVD.

I mean that there's no reason to wait for an improved reissue if the existing DVD is good enough, which is apparently the case here. By remaster I mean 'reissued with a new or altered video transfer', not just that it was mastered using a new transfer originally (which would simply be referred to as its original master, I believe... but then there are different interpretations as to the meaning of the word 'remaster').
