Gears of War Ad Spoofs

Okay when I first saw the Gears of War ad I was on the fence if I liked it or not. Yet the ad did stick in my mind more so then other game ads. Now for those that haven't seen it here is a little info.

The first commercial for this season’s hottest game, Gears of War, was incredibly striking, with great use of a great song (”Mad World” by Gary Jules) and no game sounds, creating a really haunting feel that just worked, and is one of the best commercials in a while.

So far my favorites are:
Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” - Music just fits despite that disco vibe.

Metallica’s “One”, with added footage - Nice bit of work went into this one adding great footage and editing work.

“Hamster Dance” - Funny as hell period!

White Zombie’s “More Human Than Human” - Has the hard beat and a little moaning to giving that sexy edge.

Not about the spoofs, but the actual GoW commercial is absolutley beautiful and haunting.

Some great spoofs in there, as well as some actual good recreations of the feel of the original advert. "Bittersweet Symphony" works best other than the original I felt.

I agree with you on Metallica's "One" and the Hamster Dance clips...I also found myself laughing as I watched the commercial to the "Full House" theme song. :D

I'd love to see Dom doing the wierd dance near the end of the tears for fears video.

The actual ad is pretty nice and it can be nice check out a few of the spoofs, but after awhile I started to get bored. Mainly because it felt like a lot of them were doing nothing more than well replacing the tune. So I kind of neglected to check a lot of them.

I tried watching the spoofs just now but I couldn't get through more than 5 seconds of any of them. Not when the real GoW commercial is so unbelivably beautiful.

BTW, "Mad World" wins in my books for the most depressing song of the year. I heard it on the radio once and freaked when I saw the commercial.

Best Video Game commercial I've ever seen.
