Man, I'm gonna go thru GaoGaiGar withdrawal.. I just got Vol. 1 + Box and 2 yesterday and are in the "Watch Now" pile  and 2 more months for Tekkaman Blade, this is going to hurt :anger:
Foxy Nudes and 2 Facials of Eve can wait... :bignosebleed:

So Bible Black Only is still coming out on January 30? If so, thank god! I couldn't care less about Foxy Nudes or Two Facials of Eve...
But why was A Time to Screw then released on time? I hope that we're not witnessing the downfall of Media Blasters :surprised:

Maybe this is all in relation to the overwhelming demand they are facing with Voltron.

It's great everyone is taking this in stride... My guess is that Voltron is thee best performing series for Media Blasters. I bet that all of the efforts are being made to make sure it comes out with the quality we found in Volume 1 and minimize all the delays as much as possible. All the while not cranking out a mass of dvd's at horrible qualities... I'm not gonna mention other companies, but they recognize each release is important to their respective fans and are treating them as such.

Oh, well. I guess I'm grateful they're at least formalizing the delay of the Kitty titles this time, instead of just releasing them four or five weeks after street without ever acknowledging they're late (see: Sex Exchange).
But why was A Time to Screw then released on time? I hope that we're not witnessing the downfall of Media Blasters :surprised:
Doubtful. Seems like one or two of the animé publishers have to screw around with their release schedule every year because the DVD replicators are slammed with huge orders from the major movie studios. I think it was Bandai last year, but I don't remember for sure.
Vicserr
12-08-2006, 04:45 PM
In Bandai's case, the replicator was the one that went under :P
I didn't remember that Bandai's replicator died (where's Chief O'Brien when you need him?), but I do remember animé discs getting pushed either forward to November (rare) or back to January (common) just about every year since 2000 or so because of replicator capacity issues. All I'm saying is, it's highly unlikely that Media Blasters' delays are because they're going all CPM on us.

I'm sad too, as I was getting ready to pick it up next month. Even though I'll most likely watch it in Japanese, I hope it's being delayed to produce an English track. :|

I could care less for a dub for this show, but the delay of it truly leaves me sad as well. It is one of the shows that I am currently interested in released by Media Blasters to collect disk from disk.
Now we just have to wait... and wait for the date to get closer as each day passes.

I'm disappointed over Tekkaman Blade. MB delays are nothing new though, looking back over the years.
I'd buy Voltron but its not got a Japanese track, so no sale.

Same here, and Voltron was never big here in the UK so it has no nostalgic appeal for me. I'm holding off for Go Lion and Dairugger XV.

That sucks for Tekkaman Blade, but it means I may actually have money when it comes out, so this is kind of good.
Does anyone know WHEN Voltron Volume 2 is supposed to come out? It was originally Nov 21, then Dec 12th, then Dec 19th, is it actually going to be the 19th?

Have you ever seen the origianl version? It is a terrible series and far too kiddish when compared to Voltron. WEP did Golion a favor when they changed it. Yes, sure, you had more violence, but I'd rather have a series that has development and plot over violence.

Ouch, well, I care. It's why I haven't picked up any of their other shonen-ai titles. The main reason I'm getting this one is because I absolutely adore Higuri You's character design and style.

Well, if it's anything like the dub that Green Green had (another Media Blasters title that was originally announced as sub-only, then delayed, and released as hybrid), then you'll end up with a dub that is so half-assed that you'll wonder why anyone even bothered.

 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Tekkaman Blade Delayed! One til March, the other indefinite. So cloooose.
I can understand the demand for Voltron. That first box set was hellified good. Haven't gotten the second one but will eventually.
Golion... is a VERY diffferent show that Voltron, to say the least. Damned depressing and bloody violent. I'm happy to get Voltron with all the original sound effects & commecrcial bumpers intact along with making-of extras and good looking footage, unlike the remastered Robotech boxsets. (Good looking footage, but the other stuff..... wasn't hitting!) If MB's gotta concentrate more on them, I understand.
But still.... no Tekkaman Blade while I actually have a bit of time off... *sulks*

Whoops, I seemed to have misteped in the wording somehow. What I meant was that I really don't care much for their dubbing since I've found my ears grated everytime I pop a Media Blasters DVD with the English track. :nervous:
But hey, to each its own and if the delay is for it, then they can go ahead and add it. Altough if its just to raise the price of the release, then I'll be more than a might pissed. :anger:
Or maybe they're just delaying it because of some other such nonsense. Only time will tell. :tired:

All this fuzz for a delay  , MB has never been too strict keeping release dates and with the load they now have because of Voltron it's undenstandable that other titles get a little lagged, and the Bible Black: New Testament mess is mostly Milky's fault.

OK, you've got a point... But it seems that BB: Only is going to come out in april at the earliest, if Foxy Nudes was pushed back 3 months. And anything over a month is too big of a wait for me personally.
Oh well, at least I have a couple of older Kittymedia titles to get (A Time to Screw and Panty Flash Teacher).

Well, I think it's pretty much been said that the delay are partly due to MB focusing on getting more Voltron out the door, but having followed them for several years now, they almost always delay titles announced for the Jan-Mar time frame. I remember a post a couple years ago where John said it was because they spend that time catching up on the previous year's schedules and releases. So, as excited as I was when I saw BB:O announced for January, part of me just knew this would happen...

Yeah, TRSI has listed my copy of Foxy Nudes as "Reserved for Your Order" for several days now. Seems MB/Kitty release dates actually mean, "Whenever we feel like it -- early, late, who knows?" Not that I'm complaining about the early, it's just funny.

Well that's your opinion and i respect that. But the original Golion feels more like a Super Robot show than Voltran to me. The Ichuro Mizuki songs are good enough to put you in the mood for that ;) . I am sure that those who watched SR shows from the 70s & 80s would understand what i am saying.
Anyway, for me i watched Voltran when i was a kid and loved it, and 3 years ago i watched Golion and enjoyed it more :)
For me i'll wait for MB to release Golion....although with the delay of Tekkaman Blade i wonder when they'll start on the former :sd:

Two days ago I received the Tekkaman Blade Collection 1 from Right Stuf despite the fact that is was delayed until March. The first collection is basically a three disc set in a two page digipak with disc one on the left side and disc 3 slightly overlapping disc 2 on the right. I was surprised by the quality though. It's kind of like the Marmalade Boy digipak but without the slipcase.

I've been only able to watch the first disc so far, but from what I've seen the picture looks pretty good for its age. I was expecting quite a bit of grain in the picture like in GaoGaiGar and Sailor Moon, but I noticed very little grain in Tekkaman Blade. The packaging is made of thick cardboard. It's not flimsy at all like the digipak for Naruto or Jin-Roh. I would probably compare it more to the Special Edition version of Hellsing Ultimate Vol. 1. In the case of Tekkaman Blade, the packing is made of a thick cardboard instead of Hellsing Ultimate's metal.

The packaging to me is less 'cardboard' and more like the hardcover of a hardcover book, but instead of pages and binding, it has a disk tray on the inside front cover, and inside back cover.
Very, very nice packaging. One of the 2 disk trays has disks overlapping, but the packaging is so nice that it doesn't seem as negative as it normally does with overlapping disks.
The video from the disks does appear to be nice and remastered instead of the old video from the Teknoman disks.

Ditto! I hadn't realized there was another episode with such an 'adult rating' :D . Since it's only one episode though, I would think that the price wouldn't be the full 30 dollars for the other releases. Hopefully that will be the case. Wonders how they will play the release. :>

There's actually more than just the one episode. There is the follow-up episode which featured the boys visiting the girls' school: Green Green OVA ANN Encyclopedia entry (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=2292)
Then there's the '13th episode,' called "Green Green Erolutions", ANN Encyclopedia entry (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=3520), which does have some sex in it that would require it to be put out by Kitty. Hopefully, MB can just combine the two episodes on one DVD release. :) :virgin:
There was also the Character DVD's, but thankfully, MB included the short anime pieces from those as extras on the TV series DVD's.

I saw that at ANN when I looked to see what the '13th' episode was about. It would be extra nice to have the two episodes released together, but since they have different ratings (or so I would imagine), I could see it in two different releases. Still, I'd go with putting them both in one disc just to be nice Media Blasters :D .
