Okay, so, I was loving Yukikaze up until that last volume, and having seen it, I only love it slightly less. The problem is that the director's openly admitting to changing the flavor of the source material, Good Luck Yukikaze, the final novel if memory serves. I mean, yeah they didn't utilize many of the strong musical pieces they build up over the series, yeah it was one long, stretched out fight, but in the end these are things don't rank very high as problems for me, my problem involves closure with my understanding of the series' ending.
What was the original ending to the novel series, because, I don't necessasrily hate the whole straightforward "I must go," "I want you to come back," slightly-fluffy ending on a meadow and a hill, but still...what was the original ending? It's not that the present ending wasn't sweet and kind in the way the series' characters have often been played, there's a very romantic quality to the character relations in the series up to this point, but there was always a strong well of philosophy and perspective behind it, and this present ending lacks just enough of it to make me wonder what was changed, because the special features admit to a change, and I feel like there's a lingering alteration to the series' flavor near the end...but what...is it?
Thanks in advance for your response.
