A question for the more technologically sound than I...
Is there anyway to disable/remove, preferrably remove, the Starforce 'protection' software from my PC and still run the games it checks?

Depend of the games, if it's not too recent a crack is most likely to exists.
The best thing is not to by any Starforce protected games like I do ;)
Often the game exists in other region with other protection system, for example often Starforce is used for the European version of the games while the US version use Securom of something else. (Not that Securom is much better, but at least it doesn't install some crappy driver)

Well, I'm not a big PC gamer and the sum total of games installed on my PC is:
The Longest Journey
Vampire: The Masquerade
Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
Of those, I think it's Dreamfall that has Starforce. I'm also thinking of getting The Moment of Silence, another adventure game which also has Starforce. Any idea if there are cracks/patches for those?

Starforce is one of the most nastiest legal malware on the market.
Starfore is almost impossible to remove.
The best thing to do is to not to support companies that use Starforce in their games.
