Oh. My. Fucking. God. (http://forum.vgcats.com/showthread.php?t=15573)
Please be a joke. Please do not let there be people in the world willing to trade a child for a games console.
I've heard that the radio station prank was a real thing and that people actually were trying to make the deal seriously. Supposedly some people showed up in person to do it. It says....... a lot about the state of some things.

It was only for a day. I can see parents thinking win/win. Free PS3 and babysitting service plus if the kids old enough to want a PS3 he/she would be all for it too! Now people giving up their week old babies for a day sounds terrible but let's say a 9 year old, not nearly as bad. The radio station would have to take good care of the kid since it's a lawsuit waiting to happen.

In the parents' defense, the radio station said they only had to give up their kids for 24 hours. Think about it. Essentialy the parents would be able to get a PS3 and enjoy it for a day before they got their kids back. Sure, it sounds harsh, but it doesn't sound too bad.
Yeah, I'd make a bad parent. :P

I dont know about a PS3. I'm pretty sure my parents would have given all 3 of us kids up for a day for $600 bucks though. :)
More seriously, even for a day that seems rather negligent honestly. But thats just me. Over the years I've come to realize just how different I was raised over the average kid and how many things my parents did for us kids that most parents didnt.
Whats the going rate on little brothers these days

Really? Wow, I have a little brother and I didn't know it! :D
So what would a Gameboy Advance SP be? I'd like to figure my other equivalances of siblings.

I think that was here in the Twin Cities. I wouldn't have given up my kid, but I can't judge. I might do it for a Wii  .

Speaking as the youngest sibling in my family I gotta say that's harsh. At least upgrade me to a Gamecube or something. :)

If your kids are bastards, then I don't see what's wrong with turning them over for 24 hours. I'd much rather save $600 than deal with some brat for a day.

I'm the second youngest in mine and thus I'm worth a much better system than you. Wait wouldn't it also depend on how many siblings are in your family? In my case I'm the fourth child or well fifth if you count my half sister. Thus a person who is a family of three may still be the youngest, but they get position three. While I'm position four at best. Yes I'm bored enough to ponder this. :)

Kids vs PS3? No contest!
Kids really eat into the gaming budget. It's hard not to see this as win/win all the way. :neko:

Actually, these parents would have been doing their kids a favor if they traded them in for a PS3.

Eh... I don't know. It depends on when. Right now, at this moment, kids are more entertaining as there's zero PS3 games I want to play. In a year or two? Hell yeah! Where do I sign up? Don't have any kids but I'm sure my mom wouldn't mind if I traded off one of my brothers so she could have a day of peace. :D
