Bible Black PC

So I got Bible Black today. Unfortunately the DVD drive in my PC decided that it didn't want to read CDs sometime in the last month so I haven't been able to play it. However since it's out now, I wondered it anyone else has had a chance to check it out.

Meanwhile I guess that makes getting a new DVD+R (or fixing the laser) a priority for me where as it was on the backburner before.

I've seen it. Animation and art style are superior but the subject matter - some of it just offended me. Mostly all the rape, and the human sacrifice. My favorite episode is episode one of Origins (specifically the opening sex scene: H-A-W-T!!!!!).

I started playing it on my laptop since it appears that I'm too cheap to go out and buy a new drive for my computer. :P

I would love it if someone who played/has the original jp version would try the english one and see if anything has been cut out or added in...

with peach princess editing out scenes from x-change 3 due to content... and with media blasters edit of kitty hentai shows... how will they treat bible black? small changes like ages going up or schools suddenly being junior colleges... i can expect and roll my eyes over and ignore... but i would hate it if entire scenes were cut out or blood removed (ie from a virgin being deflowered)...

if they had to, it would be ok if they scenes still had mosaics... that i can live with if the original jp had it as well.

Some quick comments.


There are some grammar errors, but not a large amount.
A few times the target of conversation is mistaken. For example instead of saying "I understand" the subtitles would be like "You know".
There is speech, but text doesn't scroll along with the speech. So if you don't understand Japanese, you may miss the fact that there's just a pause in the sentence and then skip to the next part.
There is some barbie doll, but there is also non-barbie doll. (see pictures 28+)


Since I had basically skipped past some of the early sex scenes (yes there are optional scenes), I had to start over to take some screen shots of naughty bits for you guys. :)

So I've got 6 of the endings (all bad of course. I know how to get the good ending so I'm avoiding it) and I've noticed that there are some continuity problems if you do certain paths first. For example, in one path, you never go with Saeki to her apartment, but you know where it is for some reason.

I could understand that you would know on other paths, but not on that one in particular.

There appears to be some bad ends that I missed on the Japanese version or I just don't remember... like Minase getting it up the pooper from Nonogusa, but I guess it makes sense because I always tried to save her previously.

There are occasions where the english text is too long for the page so the voice won't start speaking until you hit the second page... with is a bit annoying. I wish they would have had it so the voice starts talking on the first page and you can go to the second page to finish reading.

A few spots where the Japanese text isn't completely removed, but those aren't too often.

So I guess I'm one of the few people here who bought it. :(

That's a shame, it's a great first effort. I really hope some of you guys pick it up so that we can get other Active Soft titles. :)

Just as an update. 100% complete all CG unlocked. All endings obtained. Decided to forgo sleep last night to finish everything.

I was holding off on buying this, but with BB: Only indefinitely delayed, I decided to pick it up and get my BB fix. I've played it through twice, getting two bad endings so far. The story, like Gatts said, is a little inconsistant in places, but then again, all it really has to do is get you from Point A to Point Sex, so it's not all that bad. :P

The graphics are pretty good, and very detailed. Though they tend to re-use poses for characters too much, even when the pose looks silly given the scene's context.

The sex scenes, to be expected, are where the most attention is given. There are quite a few I wish had made it into the anime ( :blush: ). I also liked how certain decisions you made leading up to a sex scene could affect what happened, even during the sex scene (for example, if you hold out info on Saeki, she just puts more, um, "effort" into it...).

Best part though is that as you go through the game, you "unlock" sex scenes, scenery, and graphics, all of which can be instantly viewed from the main menu afterwards. Basically, it gives you the option of skipping the game and just re-watching the sex scenes you unlocked earlier.

Overall, I have really enjoyed it. I don't know if I'd run out and buy anymore H-games after this, but I'm glad I picked up the game that inspired my favorite H-anime.

Ah, OK. I didn't know there was a way to access them from a Japanese ISP, I figured they were blocked and couldn't send adult material here.

Hmm, they don't have any of the recent R1 hentai DVDs I want to buy listed... ah well. Shipping for the BB game came to just $7, not too bad.
