I only own one PSP game and that's LocoRoco, and I just ordered WTF. So, besides those two games I just mentioned, I'm up for anything really...except puzzle games.

That's a shame since it has the one of the greatest puzzlers ever made!

But aside from that, MGS: Portable Ops is great, and WipeOut Pure remains one of my personal favorites, but I admit to being a WipeOut whore.

If you enjoy old school platformers that challenge you, Ultimate Ghouls and Ghosts is a great update to the classic franchise.

I'm afraid that's about all I can recommend. I hear people like GTA: Vice City Stories, but I'm no GTA fan and couldn't really comment on it.

Looking forward to FFVII: Crisis Core, though.

If you're a fan of 2D action games, I very highly recommend the 2 Megaman games "Megaman: Maverick Hunter X" and "Megaman: Powered Up". Both are remakes of classic Megaman games ("Megaman X" and "Megaman 1" respectively), and both games turned out great. Plus, MHX added anime cutscenes (plus a 30 minute OAV) and a second playable character (Vile) with his own storyline and completely different play style, and MMPU lets you play as all a whole bunch of different characters and has a level builder, which allows level sharing online.

Yes, both of these games were phenomenal. And you reminded me that I've gotta watch that 30 minute OVA... completely forgot about that. While much, much more difficult, you might also like Ultimate Ghosts n' Goblins... definitely old school.

Out of the games I have, Wipeout Pure and Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror get the most play. Both games are great.

Sounds like I might pick up some Megaman soon though.

I think I'll try to get my hands on some of these and those Mega Man games mentioned. I only have the cash for about 3 to 5 games atm though and I have no idea what to pick. I want them all. :(

In that case, the 5 I'd recommend would be:

Initial D Street Stage (if pushed I'd say this is the best game on the PSP)
MGS Portable Ops
Tekken DR
GTA Vice City Stories
Gokumakaimura

Worth noting that some PSP games are being released on budget ranges in Japan throughout January. Initial D, Burnout Legends, Gradius Portable, Rockman X: Irregular Hunter and SF Zero 3 are among those being released for around $30.

I ordered these and Katamari for PSP so far. They should be here Wednesday. On a side note I also picked up a copy of Shadow of the Colossus for PS2 for $18 in the same order. So here's hoping there they're good. Though I have no doubt they are.

Good choices. All 5 of those games are fantastic.

If you don't mind importing (and you like shooters), Konami is releasing more classic shooter collections for the PSP in Japan next week:

- Parodius collection
- Salamander/Life Force collection
- Twinbee collection

There's also a cheaper version of the Gradius collection coming out, but that's already available in the U.S.

Just thought I'd mention that I picked up Parodius Portable and Salamander Portable, and they're both excellent. I'd never played Salamander 2 or Xexex before and I was surprised by how solid they are. Parodius, of course, is a lot of fun and pretty funny. Most of the games look great on the PSP.

You need to get Thrillville. It's a theme park game, like Rollercoaster Tycoon. But unlike RT, you can actually go on the rides you build. The game is also available for PS2, but I think it's better on the PSP because the game's limitations (such as only being able to build in certain places) don't seem as apparent on a portable system. Plus, who wouldn't want to be able to create their own theme park on the go? :D
