My votes went like this:

Western matches:
Anita King over Sanada - basically a no-brainer. I don't like any of the Valkyrie characters.
Tama-chan over Rin Kamishiro - as much as I like Rin (especially during the second half of Maburaho), I don't see her that much as a moe character, and definitely not against any of the Bottle Fairies.
Misao Nanjo over Ayu Daikuuji - Indifferent to both girls, but at least Misao is not as annoying as Ayu.
Sasami over Asuna - If this wasn't a moe tournament, Asuna would easily kick Sasami's cute behind, no questions about it. But alas this is a moe tournament, so Sasami wins out.

Eastern matches:

Kozue Aoba (based on what I know about her from last year's tournament)
Hina Ichigo (basically a no-brainer, plus look at Daniel Perales' avatar. It's too cute to miss! :D )

Honestly based on what I saw of the series before ultimately dropping it I'd have trouble for voting any of the girls in Higurashi. Rather than invoke feelings of love and wanting to protect them, they're more likely to scare me and make me hope for my own saftey :sd:

This is one of the most moe shows I've ever seen. I personally have no trouble voting for any of the girls as being moe, even if they all happen to be homicidal killers, which may or may not be true, it doesn't mean they still can't be moe. ;) And Shion, in my opinion, is the most moe out of all the other girls in the show. Rika has absolutely nothing on her. :) I have absolutely no idea what Splitter seems to be insinuating; that she's not moe? That's ridiculous. Shion definitely gets my vote.

Rin: She's hot, and lolis =/= my idea of moe.

Misao: Both so cute! But I had to go with Misao, just because Ayu looks like too much of a tsundere for my tastes based off pics that I've seen.

Sasami: You already know my thoughts here.. but if I had to go with one, it'd be Sasami.

Shion: One of my favorite Higurashi characters! I'd have a hard time voting against her even if her opponent were really hot. (which she's not)

Kozou: I like Mashiro, but... *points back to Rin comment*

Misuzu: Loli =/= moe! Misuzu's cute anyways.

Moving on to Round 2:

Western Division: Anita King, Rin Kamishiro, Ayu Daikuuji, and Sasami Masaki Jurai (making Asuna the first Negima character to be eliminated in the tournament)

Eastern Division: Shion, Kozue Aoba, Misuzu Kamio (stop crying Hina Ichigo and accept your defeat!), and Karin Maaka.

And considering that she faces Rin Kamishiro in the second round, it seems likely that Anita will advance to the third round. But she'll lose to Azmaria (assuming, of course, she get past Ms. Readman). :)

In last year's Moe Tournament, Anita lost in the second round to Chobits' Chi by a 28-26 margin.

That's probably pretty accurate... I'd be happy if she lost in the next round, though.
