Man, as I mentioned in the "What are you playing?" thread, this is a freaking awesome game. Graphics are sweet, looks better than DOA4 & Tekken 5 DR, and stills don't do the game justice. Gameplay is still as unforgiving as ever, you don't learn how to play for real quickly you'll end up dead. Eileen & El Blaze are two awesome new characters but Eileen is easily the best new character in a fighting game in a long time. She's just so fun to play as, and she's a little hottie too! Anyway, I'm off to play some more. I noticed that play-asia is prepping my virtua stick high grade order but I'm a little concerned. I hope it's a fixed one from sega..... :sd:
edit: I know the US version doesn't come out until next week, the 20th, I bought the Japanese version. I like that cover better anyway :)

I was planning on buying this when the US version comes out. It looks amazing. Besides I need something other than Resistance to play on my PS3.

I don't have it yet because I don't have a PS3. The system's already my favorite of the next gen consoles between this and Ridge Racer 7, so that says something about how much I want VF5.

I'll be getting mine next week.
I wanted the Sega High Grade Arcade Stick but it was recalled by Sega. :( I guess the Hori arcade stick will do.

I just emailed play-asia and they told me that the one they're sending me is a fixed one from sega. so i guess that means the problem has been fixed?

I won't be buying it. I only buy 1 fighting game every 3-4 years, and last year I bought DoA4, so I have no need for anything else right now. Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance was the game I got before DoA4. Fighters are cool, but I just don't have as much fun with them as I do other games. On the other hand, online is the best thing to ever happen to fighters. Nevetheless, DoA4 is one of the best fighters I have ever played, and will continue to play until either the new MK series comes out, or DoA5 hits.

Hell yes I'm playing it. The greatest/deepest 3D fighter makes its return and this is definitely the best one yet.
Yeah, graphics are gorgeous (even on a SDTV) and it plays perfectly. This is an arcade perfect Lindbergh port of the best 3D fighter around. What more could we ask for? :D
So, for all other Virtua Fighters, who is your main character. I'm a Jacky player primarily but I'll use Kage now and again. Currently haven't played with many other than Jacky as I'm addicted to Quest Mode. Up to 8th Dan with 130-odd wins and 15 losses. Beat a few 10th Dans last night (Kage and Aileen which I was particularly proud of) too :)

I never spent as much time on VF as I would've liked, but in 4 EVO, Lei Fei was my character of choice.

Just to add to this, for those that don't know, the Japanese version features both the US and JP version of the game, so if you have your PS3 language set to English you'll be playing the US version.
Plus, as Malrock said, not that it's anything new, but the Japanese cover is a lot sweeter than the US one.

I favor Lion but only because he uses Mantis Kung-fu which is what I practice in real life.

picked up the NA version few days ago, am loving this game. i always get into franchises so late ie. Tekken 5 was my first tekken, Soul Calibur 2 etc
anyway, VF 5 is sooooo awesome, the depth and number of combinations for every character is amazing. granted, i've only played Jacky so far but, man, the complexity of his moves amazes me. so many buttons to remember, i am starting to forget stuff i need for school :>

I got the Japanese version although I still don't have a PS3 yet. I've just been playing pretty much at work since we have them here. :) Not sure if everyone knows this already, but to get up real fast, time it so that you press P+K+B (Punch, Kick, Block) at the same time when you get knocked down and you can get up almost instantly. You can also hold up or down on the D-Pad to roll up or down.

My girlfriend came home with my copy a few hours ago. Bitches have been pwned. Fun was had by all.
