View Full Version : World of Warcraft: General Discussion

I'm sure there are quite a few WoW addicts among us, and I was rather surprised to find little mention of it here in the Gaming forums other than a comment here-and-there and a passing thread. I know a lot of us are huge into console games as well (the Wii and the 360 make it hard not to be!), but to those of us with a huge MMORPG addiction, a lot of the time those games are mere distractions from our true passion...er, addiction.
Whatever. Maybe I'm the only one.
So here's a thread that I hope will spark some interesting WoW discussion. Anything goes, from simply listing your characters' race/class/gender/level/server, funny stories, screenshots, random mis-tells, bitching about patches/nerfs/buffs, PVP prowess, gloating, looking for help with quests...whatever! It's all WoW, all the time in here (hopefully).
I guess I'll start the ball rolling with some basic info about my WoW-ness. I currently have only a couple characters I bounce between. They are -
Yayoi, Female Human Warrior (67), Deathwing Server
Spec: Mostly Protection (14/0/44).
Locan, Male Undead Warlock (60), Balnazzar Server
Spec: Mostly Demonology (7/43/1).
So, who else is a WoW addict around here?

At this time, I would like to give a shout out to my main man, the roughest, toughest, most badass mini-boss in WoW. This hole-stomper is singlehandedly responsible for the deaths of countless raids, the fall of major cities and the eating of many babies. His name sends waves of fear down the spine of the most hardened warrior. None have faced him and come away unscathed. He is, in a word...EPIC!!!
That's right my friends...you know who I mean...

I sort of play on my girlfriend's account. I have a Level 10 Male Draenei Hunter called Greysquid, on Bronze Dragonflight. I don't really get that sucked into MMOs, largely due to the cost. I prefer Guild Wars to WoW personally, largely because it's free.

Its not free however. If you started playing Guild Wars when it first came out and kept current, you would be out $150 so far, with more expenses to come. If you started playing WoW at the same time and also kept current, you would be out $90 for the software and $78 for each 6 months play time, so you'd be in the middle of your 4th billing cycle, at $312, so $402 all told. Certainly more expensive, but I'm not seeing how Guild Wars is "free". You have just exchanged a recurring service fee for a recurring expansion fee.

Meh, I pick up the Guild Wars expansions for around £10 when they drop down in price. Only difference with expansions is that WoW only has one so far. And I'd rather pay an occasional fee for a 'new game' than a recurring fee to play a game I've already bought. And I've no interest in Factions, as it's largely PvP, so I'm at the same level as people who've bought WoW and Burning Crusade.

The three characters I'm playing the most right now are all on the Deathwing server and they are:
Frothy-Female Gnome Warrior 62.
Bluehoof-Female Draenei Shaman 24.
Whinny-Female Human Warlock 35.
I have other alts on this server but I don't play them as much.
Quelith-Female Night Elf Druid 26.
Hanks-Male Dwarf Hunter 23.
When my girlfriend asked my why I make so many female characters my response was: "If I'm gonna have to stare at my characters butt the whole time I play this game I'd rather it be a female butt than a male butt." She figured that was an acceptable answer :D
My girlfriend has characters on Deathwing also:
Witchee-Female Gnome Warlock 62.
Blueness-Female Draenei Mage 24.
Healee-Female Night Elf Priest 26.
Anyone who plays on Deathwing feel free to add us to your friends lists. We're always up for more friends.

Funny, that's the same answer I give my friends when asked the same thing. Of course, let's ignore the fact that all of their characters are female, too. :P

Well I have characters all over the place but I mostly play on Shadowsong (alliance). Today's actually the first time in about a month that I've had time to log on and play though :(
Vani 62 mage
Luriel 61 paladin
Willowmist 51 hunter
Reikoku 39 rogue
Naosu 36 priest
Kikaroo 29 warlock
Pandacub 21 warrior
Ravenmist 20 druid
Tochi 9 shaman
Hubby plays a rogue, though I use the term "plays" loosely. He stopped playing awhile back when he got bored at 60 but hasn't let his account lapse (maybe because I have bankers on it lol). He played a few times since BC but hasn't really shown much interest in playing more often. He's got a few alts but he's not exactly an "alt" type of person. :nervous:

I play on Dalvengyr and sometimes Whisperwind.
Nanami - 70 human priest - Dalvengyr
Mokkori - 60 human warlock - Dalvengyr
Alielle - 60 undead priest - Whisperwind
I haven't played a whole lot since the expansion came out as I find all the reputation grinding and such rather boring and have been busy with other stuff. I'm thinking about letting my account lapse for the first time since release.

I was talking to a friend of mine who plays still and he told me that a lot of people are ticked off at all the magic immune mobs in Kharazan. he said his warlock can't even do anything on half the pulls so he was reading homework while playing at the same time. Said he can't even wand these guys. Anyone run into that yet? I guess that sound of a million voices crying out in anger i heard last night must have been all the mage players :D

Some of that got fixed in todays patch.
Saraphain - 42 Tauren Druid on Zul'jin raider of the "Plague of Terror"
For the Horde! Plus from todays patch I didn't get nerfed like all my feral breathern instead my moonkin armor boost was made equivilant wtih dire bear form from 360 (originally) up to 400% now. Can't wait to log on and ding out 43. When I hit 45 four 70s in my guild are gonna run me through Strat and Scholo to get level to 58 as well as get me attuned with the Argent of Dawn so I can go on their next Nax run.

Some advice on getting Argent Dawn rep fast. Do not turn in the stones until you've hit revered, when you stop getting rep for regualr mobs in Scholo and Strait. Just run those or do the cauldron quests over and over again. I made the mistake of burning my stones and my tokens to early and now if i ever get back on i still have a ways to go till exalted.
