Thought this might be a good idea for a thread. Similar to the R2J jpeg orgy thread, this would be for posting your latest game related buys, current-gen, retro, Japanese/European/US, toys and figures, hardware, posters, books and everything inbetween.

Although I don't want to start it if it's just me posting all the time - I want to be nosey and see what others have bought, so would anyone else actually post?

On Thursday I bought 2 Wii Classic Controllers and 2 Wii Points cards. So far I've just bought Mario Kart 64 with my Wii Points.

I'm undecided how I want to spend my remaining 3000 points. I know I can definitely come up with more than 3000 points worth of games already, but there's also the "tomorrow is Monday so I wonder if those VC games are more worth it" feeling. Unfortunately at some point you just have to spend the points or else you never will. New VC games are always coming.

That could work as it would not change the status quota. It would also allow a thread for something we haven't really focused on. Although it has been a very long time since I've gotten game accessories myself. The main thing I have are some Japanese guide books for certain games. Although their use is kind of limited by my lack of understanding of Japanese.

Yeah, that was my original intention.

I don't, of course, police this board in any way but what do people favour - keeping this thread for posting pics and stating what gaming stuff has arrived with you (with a heavy focus on the pics) or using it instead of the monthly thread to kep track that way.

Personally I'd rather see both - this thread for 'updates' and the "what did you buy?" thread at the end of the month with a list.

You can find the first game here in the UK for about £5 preowned but I've never taken the plunge, even as a huge Ippo fan.

Yeah, there's an Ippo Wii game coming (to Japan anyway) later in the year.

A simultaneous release of multiple bodily fluids and substances filled my pants upon learning of this glorious news...and it was good.

I did some research of my own and found out more about it: Hajime no Ippo Revolution debuts in Japan for the Wii on June 21, 2007. Looks badass; they're taking the format laid down by Wii Sports boxing it and developing it into a full-blown boxing sim. This HAS to see a stateside release, or I'll curb stomp a kitten* every day until it does.

I just got S.T.A.L.K.E.R. today, and still have yet to really touch it. I think I need to tone the shadows down, because currently, something is very very wrong when it is running at 15 frames or less. :sd: My rig isn't a super-duper computer, but it's comfortable enough to run most games smoothly. :tired:

I knew I should have gotten Onimusha: DoD for $17 today. Eh, I just couldn't do it anymore...never finished playing 3, and my PS2 is just gathering dust outside of Guitar Hero 2. :sd:

Yeah, I picked up the second game right when it came out to the US. Good thing I did too. As it was it was hard to find then. I haven't seen it since.

Considering it's also budget priced (was $10 on its launch day, seriously) it's worthwhile picking up, even if you are waiting for Hajime no Ippo Revolution. Despite the budget price it's an awesome game. I would've paid $50 for it. The story mode covers all of the anime and a whole lot more. It covers up through volume 71 of the manga IIRC.

I installed it, but I haven't started it up yet... waiting for the Vista patch since it supposedly has pretty significant issues on Vista. Still, it's being compared favorably to Deus Ex, so that alone should be an indicator that this is something great.

I think STALKER will be a good game, it's just that I feel severely underpowered on it. If I can max FEAR out and run it smoothly, I thought it would run halfway decently... :D Ah well, I win some and lose some. :P

Believe me, the decision on Onimusha was a difficult one. Ultimately I saw no point when I was barely touching my PS2...I think I was somehow getting tired of the Onimusha formula, no matter how refined it was. I'm sure I'm going to regret it someway or another. Someone else could give it a cozy home. ;)

But for now, I have Earth Defense Force 2017 to fulfill my mindless gaming fix. Mindless indeed...but it's oddly fun just blowing the shit out of waves and waves of giant ants...or the buildings, whichever comes first.

I didn't even realize the second one was release in the US yet. I guess I've been under a rock or something. I just ordered it off of Amazon. The first one was remarkably addicting.

It had a very quiet release. Especially because other big things, like the Wii and the PS3, were coming out around the same time.

But then again it's a boxing game. Boxing games in general just kinda sneak out to store shelves.

have been addicted to Pokemon Diamond past few days. i've never played a Pokemon game before, it is just so fun! am playing almost 6-7 hrs a day right now, i've never ever played a game this much ever! three days, 20+ hrs logged... I love Pokemon!!! :D

i've heard a lot of people talking about Forza on gaming forums recently. i'm not really a racing fan, altho i love Burnout Revenge but that's mostly cuz i like the hit stuff :D

what are your thoughts on Forza? should i give it a try? the other racing games i have are Burnout Revenge and PGR for the 360, are they similar or is Forza more like the F1 game for PS3?

The best way to describe Forza is to say that it is more or less the 360's Gran Turismo (although personally I prefer the GT series).

It's less arcadey than PGR 3 and nothing at all like Burnout. Having said that, it's the best racer on the 360, at least until PGR 4 comes out which will likely give it a run for its money.

But yeah, definitely go for it. There's a thread in the gaming forum dedicated to discussion so you can arrange some online matches etc if you want.

Was out earlier and couldn't resist popping into GAME to see what was on offer. They've been clearing out their PS2 stock for a while now and got a chance to pick up some stuff I'd never got round to before - Manhunt, The Warriors and KoF Neowave (http://img119.imageshack.us/img119/2326/pict0425ma3.jpg). All for £26 which I was happy with, although Manhunt has an error which won't let me save. Replacement on the way though - anyone know if this is/was an issue with the game?
