Does anyone know what in the bloody hell is going on with Adult Swim tonight? I was expecting to be watching Bleach right now, and there is something else on instead. I thought the schedule was weird with a double listing, but what is on, is most definitely not Bleach and I question whether any other shows are gonna be on tonight... Is this a cosmic April Fools Joke? If so, screwing with the schedule to me, is not a very good joke...

Techincally its April 1st.

They seem to mess with anime during this time of the year. I'll be really pissed if they decide to show the "proper" shows again at 3.

Normally staying up wouldn't be an issue, but we had tornado warnings most of the evening, and I'm heading to my dad's in the morning to work on my Hyundai Accent... I'll set a dvd, but I'm officially giving up and either watch Fate / Stay Night Volume 1 from Netflix or finish Giant Robo and save Ginrei special for tomorrow night...hmmm...

Thank you for letting me know, and hopefully we resume the schedule next week and not later tonight...

It is an April Fool's joke on their part, I checked the AdultSwim board and a mod there said so.

It's not April Fool's Day yet here in Central Time jerks! :sigh: Guess I'll get to sleep early for a change.

At least they're scheduled to show "this week's" shows next week, so I don't think you'll have to stay up to watch them.

That must be what it is. I was expecting Bleach too & we get Perfect Hair Forever instead. Not too funny if you ask me.

Yeah, I'm not too happy about it either. However, the anime isn't the only one affected. According to Adult Swim's schedule, they're going to air episodes out of order on some of their shows on their Sunday night comedy lineup.

But this was a bad April Fools joke on the part of Adult Swim. Very bad.

Anyone else remember a few years back when they gave everyone mustaches on April Fools? I think they kept the schedule, but they just superimposed mustaches on everyone... :sigh:

Hey, at least we don't have to worry about the new episodes of Bleach, Blood+, and Eureka Seven having fart sounds throughout the episode.

So let me get this straight, they pre-empted AcTN tonight for this? At least we won't miss anything for next weekend (a big weekend too).

Is it just me or do the Adult Swim staff come across as arrogant pricks just about every waking moment? Particularly with their attitude towards anime.

:sigh: I am not at a good place with CN/AS,last week the end of Naruto had the last 6 minutes missing and sadly it apeered to be intensional, they've been going all back screen while Inuyasha on its first airing (they also skip over 8 episodes for no other reason then to just be mean) causeing me to stay up to 4:30-5:30 (which has done really bad things to my sleep) and now THIS  . I'm compleatly fed up with there behavior I wish they would get fired I hate them, they hate anime (even thugh it gets them there best ratings). The truth of the matter is they would rather shove there STUPID in-house crap down are throats then get top ratings with anime. Well I don't trust them to not just show them at 3:30-5:00 so it look like it'll be another sleepless night for me :sigh: AS do us a faver and just die.

It's not just you I've thought them to be arrogant pricks for years. CN as a whole has been badly run ever since the now resigned head of CN took over. He was in charge of AS website before he became head of CN and since he was in AS circle he let them do whatever they wanted to.

Why not just turn on your VCR? Put in a tape, press record, go to sleep. It's pretty simple, I do it all the time. Well, at least I did before I got my DVR.

Yes, I know, you don't have one/ it's busted / too noisy / too expensive / don't like tape quality/ don't like watching tapes at all, etc., etc.

Yeah, that was the last straw for me. I can take a joke, but that got me *so* pissed off I haven't watched AS at all since. I've had enough of their crap.

I tape them all and keep them on sepert tape and while I do have a second VCR on of them while it records beautifully it's play back is unpredictable and could start rolling makeing the tranfer look bad and the other one picture quality is pretty bad(I also use it to view the Tv).

Be warned that the "World Premier" of the Aqua Teen Hunger Force [Colon] Movie Film For Theaters was supposed to be Sunday, April 1st at 10pm.

...yeah, sure it will be.

Oddly, Perfect Hair Forever is at least 15% more watchable with the psuedo-1995 VHS fansub thing going on. I can't explain why.

I remember this from last year. Right now, its 3:39 and they haven't bothered with the reshowings. Its just more PHF. At least last year, they aired the new episodes still on the second go through :/

Oh my God. They pulled a prank on us on April Fool's day? No! Are you serious? How dare they!

Yeah, I was still a little surprised and a little disappointed that I didn't get to see Blood+, but you know what? I got over it, and I even found Perfect Hair Forever to be somewhat hilarious.

Well, I'm glad I didn't stay up for that. Time to hit the rewind on the VCR, take out the tape and put it aside for another week.

Ah yes the keyword here is "again". You'd think by now we'd learn to just avoid Adult Swim on or near the first of April. Ah well not that it matters much to me since the only thing I really watched on AS ie Inuyasha has long since shown its final episode. Most of the time I ignore it.

I'm basically taping Bleach and Blood+. Well, one less thing to watch at some point during this week.

AS always does this for April Fools. And it always throws me off at first since we're central time. But last night it took me longer to remember the words "April Fools" than it did to realize what had happened. Old news by now. They will ALWAYS screw with whatever the programming is for 4/1.

Anyway, my husband and I were wondering if they were actually making fun of fansubs and such with the bad translations along the bottom and the terrible video quality? Anybody got an opinion?

That's exactly the point of the bad translations (or in the case of one episode, the Aqua Teen subtitles) are the terrible video quality: it's meant to be a parody of old-school (i.e. VHS) fansubs.

Heh, OK, this clarifies things. I thought I was going insane for a bit. But it wasn't too funny overall I suppose... I managed to sit through fifteen minutes of this nonsense just wondering WTH was going on.

I thought they just had a bad tape/disc. It looked like there was a dead spot (had a very similar problem with one of my DVDs) and they were attempting to get around it. After a couple of attempts, it appears that they just gave up on it and skipped to the credits.

This one really pissed me off. I stayed up till two AM waiting for PHF to end, but it never did (I could've gotten up early on Sunday for once  ). At least when they pull stuff like giving everyone on Ghost in the Shell irritable bowel syndrome, you can turn the TV off without worrying about missing anything.

This would've completely caught me off guard. But luckily for me, I decided to check out ANN's "The Click" article a few minutes before 12 AM PST and saw the bad news. I would've been pissed to watch my tape later this week and find out that I recorded over Bleach and Blood+ with Perfect Hair Forever. Seeing how Adult Swim reacts toward their anime shows I'm not surprised one bit by this.

I'll admit though that I enjoyed Adult Swim's mustache-filled episode of Inu Yasha and the fartastic episode of Fullmetal Alchemist from the last two years.

You still watch Adult Swim? I haven't turned them on for my anime needs in a vvvveeeerrrrrry long time. When they started messing with Big O Season 2 (aka the Episode 20 instead of 26 fiasco), I knew that something was up with AS. I continued to watch and their attitudes towards the anime viewership became worse, so I exercised my rights as a consumer and consumed elsewhere.

As for anime bringing in higher ratings, I don't believe that's the case. The last stats that I remember seeing from Neilsen showed that comedy regularly beats action, except for rare occasions (ie. Big O Season 2... Hmm... Maybe they should do a Season 3??? ::not bitter:: ). Anyone have recent stats on AS's Neilsens?

I will say one thing about PHF, I heard a few "f" bombs being dropped. I was a bit surprised since they bleep out Samurai Champloo at 12:30 central... If I wasn't so caught up in Bleach I would have no issues in dropping AS from my routine and work on my backlog. Thanks to this stupid ass prank, I finished Giant Robo....

One of my biggest problems with these stunts is that my TiVo might think it actually recorded the episode that was scheduled (Bleach, Blood+) so it might not record them next week since it will think it's repeat within 28 days. I'll double check the ToDo list and I might have to intervene.

That what I thought at first too,but it aired on all coasts like that, and I've seen on other boards that a lot of people seem to think it was intensional. The two theory I've are that it was an April Fool's joke done by Toonami(I find this one hard to beleve since Naruto is there number 1 show)and that Viz gave them a bad tape because CN showed Pokemon Rengers when they were'nt surpose to(unless Viz had a Tony Soprano moment I can't really see them purposely screwing up the tape for one of there most popular shows.) My personal
theory is that AS did as part of there April Fool's joke, it was very similar to what they did to Inuyasha earlier in the week. Here what happened the show stared then about 2 minutes in it want black screen came back for the commercials was back for about another 2 minutes of show want out again came back for the flashback and was fine for the rest of the ep. then the whole ep. was just fine at 4:30(this has happened 3 more time since),plus this ep. of Naruto was apparently something a lot of people were looking forwered to, maybe I'm just paranoid but it would be right up AS ally to do something like that.

I wish I'd hered them as I'm writeing a letter of complaint to the FCC and a clear violation of what you can't say on Tv.

I was wandering if any one could remember what ads were shown that should aird during Bleach,Blood+,and Eureka 7 but instead aired during phf. I ask beceuse I didn't watch phf and I am hopeing to take my complaint to the advertisers.

If I had the time or energy I would have written a letter earlier this week myself... Not that I care much, but it certainly surprised me as everything is censored but this was not... Talk about inconsistent...

I knew I was forgetting something. My TiVo skipped last night's Adult Swim episodes because of the April Fool's shenanigans. But since Eureka 7 and Bleach are largely "because I'm paying for cable anyway" series, this gives me more time to watch other things.
