While serching around on the shana site they have an add for shakugan no shana segment 2 for a 2007 release in japan and also this site talks about the preproduction and things so i'm sure it's not an april fools joke i just hope geneon get's season 2 with the OVA'S and the movie.

I checked this before moving the thread to the forum. There is indeed info currently up on the official website and it is no longer April 1st in Japan.

Great news.

Hopefully I've Sound will be back for the opening(s?) again.

It was announced back with the second season of Haruhi and the second season of Zero no Tsukaima that there would be a second season of Shana, so I doubt this is fake.

I thought they were doing a movie? Oh well, while I'm not a huge Shana fan(I like the music) it seems like good news for Shana fans as they get a movie and a second season.

Unlike the Americans, the Japanese media do not have a tradition of pulling April Fool's pranks as they do not celebrate this day.

Well, if Animate TV isn't pulling an April Fool's then we'll know next week but I also think that it's genuine. It was announced at a festival and the Animate TV posting has staff announcements in it. Plus, Geneon also said it too in those links provided above. And it's listed on Moon Phase (http://moonphase.cc/Html/anime.html).

Thats awesome news. I can't wait to watch season 1 as each dvd volume comes out so I can start season 2 when it comes out.

The movie is just a retelling of the first few episodes of the tv series in more dramatic fashion. It honestly isn't going to be anything special. A second season is the single greatest piece of news my ears have been blessed with since it was confirmed that Haruhi was getting one too. I can't wait for story details. Hopefully they don't jump too far ahead timeline wise.

I'm looking forward to it simply because I'm hoping they flesh out Friagne and Marianne some more. They are still my favorite villain pair so far. I'm also curious to see what new stuff (granted if any) they pull from the novel this time.

That and the promise of that first arc with movie budget animation is enough to keep my interest. ^^;
