View Full Version : Magical Play (complete collection?)...

So I'm guessing the ADV complete collection is all that was licensed and released here in the US. I read that they stopped production back in Japan after the four episodes (and one OVA).

But does anyone know if they ever released a few more webcasts or TV episodes at some point? As lackluster as it was in parts, I would like to see a resolution to this show.

I'd just like to see Hiroki Hayashi, Seikou Nagaoka, and Azuma Kiyohiko work on a new project. Seems like it's been ages since the last new work from any of them.

No nothing else so far. The show was created by the guy who did Azu Manga Daioh and Yotsuba. Those are his more recent projects.

Too bad too, Miyu Miyu was awesome.

What we really need is a Yotsuba&! anime. That would rock.

AFAIK, those 4 episodes are just compilations in groups of 6 of the webisodes originally aired on Lycos Japan. The 3D OVA preceded the webisodes, and that DVD set compiles all of it.

Personally, I never expected it to have a resolution per se... I've always viewed Magical Play as sketch comedy.

Now, a proper 13 episode TV series based on Magical Play? That would be something I'd want to see.

Ok... thanks for the responses. I too would watch a 13 episode TV story arc if it was well written and had some closure. Bummer that was it.
