I know I'm way behind the times with this but I just got around to playing SotC greatest hits edition and damn. It was a masterpiece. How it does so much with so little is amazing.

So apparently, the main character's name is Wander. What do you think his motive was for going to such crazy lengths to bring Mono back from the dead? One of the things that impressed me the most was the moral ambiguity of everyone in the game. Do you think there are any good guys or bad guys? Also, what do you think happens after the end with Mono, Agro, and the baby?

Discuss.

Yeah, it's definitely something else. Totally immerse and amazing. (http://www.animeondvd.com/forum/showtopic.php?fid/43/tid/15018/)

My favorite colossus was the fifth one, the bird.

It's hard to determine Wander's motives, and as for the morality in te game, Dormin is evil, and Wander was swayed into doing it's bidding.

I'm not convinced Dormin is evil, or if they are, not completely. Dormin warns Wander that the price for reviving Mono will be high, and keeps his word in the end. Not only that but Dormin never promised to revive Wander, but he appears to do so at the end.

I read a compilation of storyline theories and I have one that they didn't cover, however. It's assumed that the baby is Wander reincarnated, but I'm not so sure. Wander was mortally wounded and died/was sealed away with Dormin. It's unlikely the creation of the baby had anything to do with the priest dude, so I'm pretty sure Dormin created it, and I think they created it out of Wander and themselves, in effect making the baby the son of Wander and Dormin.

The bird was awesome, my personal fav was the 13th...

I rather felt Wander's motives were for that of love, but it really is open to interpretation. He was willing to sacrifice his humanity and release the Dormin from the confinement in each Colossus just to save her. What really had me going, was how to survive in the garden in the end. As the fruit up there, if you ate it in the game, took away health permanently. In the context of the story, I don't see how that could keep everyone alive... It was a bleak and vague ending in my eyes and I loved it.

One thing I will say, is if you're going to complete all four modes, keep playing or don't take long for a replay. I put the game down after finishing Normal, Normal Time Attack and Hard... Hard Time Attack after 8 months... yeah...not good... :sd:

Wow...I love that theory, never thought of it that way... nice. :)

Oops, pretend I didn't refer to Dormin as 'he' in my post. They refer to themselves as we and speak in many voices, both male and female, so he probably isn't appropriate.

I can't beat time attack. When I'm just normally playing the game I can beat them relatively fast, but when I know I'm being timed I just choke. It took me over a minute just to shoot the first one in the foot with an arrow in time attack mode. I don't know how I'm supposed to beat the second one, it takes me like 30 seconds just to catch up with him.

Anyways, I really like the lizard in the colliseum. He's not that interesting to fight, but it just looks awesome. I remember the first time I beat the final colossus my hand hurt so bad I didn't play anything else for days.

Awesome Game. I'm "playing" ICO at the moment (It's in my ps2, but haven't touched it for about two months because of school. I played SoTC first so when I saw the ending I was wondering what happens next, then I Play ICO and later learn the two are related. I just love the style. I can only imagine how next generation iterations of this brand of series would look.

I played it so long ago I don't remember much but the one colossus that stuck with me was the under water one, where you had to hold your breath and hold on for dear life when it rushed underwater. I sorta have a fear of large bodies of water and what may or may not be lurking beneath so that one freaked me out.

You and me both. But what could possibly be lurking there that would be scarier than a Colossus? :D
