I've done one of these before, but it seems like many years ago at this point, so time for a new poll for Hand Maid May fans around here. :) Just watched this one again starting this afternoon. Love how it's short enough to be seen in one day, yet it packs a powerfully sweet and memorable punch. Nice title for a quick viewing.
For the main poll, there's 9 options, and you can chose your 2 highest favorites. I also have some other polls too on things I'm curious about.

May for the first, Kasumi for the second, and more annoying than funny for the third. It's been a while since I've seen this series and the most memorable scene would be Sara being pleased by the baby.

Kasumi is the epitome of the "girl next door".

Kasumi's my favorite character, and of course if I were Kazuya, I'd pick the only one on the list who is, in fact, a human being.
I've got to call myself a Kasumi man myself. Flesh and blood is always preferable, but I'd pick her even if they were all human.
As for Nanbara, he could have easily been annoying but they hadn't worn the tread off that particular style of humor yet when HMM first came out. They took a bit of care to make him come across as funny obnoxious and not obnoxious obnoxious and it shows.

First poll: May and Kei
Second poll: Kei
Third: More annoying than funny. Nanbara edged out Jinnai (El Hazard) as most obnoxious character ever in my book.
1. May and Sara, especially pissed off and Kansai-spouting.
2. May, no question. And life-sized versions of all five Mini Mays, too!
3. More funny than annoying. Great job by Ueda Yƫji, possibly his best voice-acting and certainly the most brilliant ham I've seen (and I've seen Trigun like five times, so that's some good ham!).

Though I really hated this show with a passion, I will have to say I liked May a lot. She was the most interesting and least-annoying character in the anime.
Nanbara needed to die. He almost made me stop watching the anime....and I had only seen the menu for the first dvd! Those who watched the dvds will know what I am talking about.

May and Kasumi.
Kasumi.
More annoying than funny.
The only one I had to think for a while about before deciding was no.2, since I was wavering between May and Kasumi.
But the arguments in Kasumi's favor by the tag team of Geoduck and Arcturus convinced me to vote in her favor.
And then I also remembered the very first episode (even though I saw this about two years ago).
Kasumi. :virgin:

1- Kasumi and Cyberdoll May
2-Kasumi
3-more annoying than funny
And I wonder if anybody has catched the Mazinger Z references O.O (specially in disc 3)

Because they weren't blatantly thrown in our faces or anything.

I took an instant liking to Kasumi and preferred her throughout, though May is charming and takes a close second. I felt the ladder episode was the best in the show.
Nanbara was slightly more amusing than annoying, but I have a high tolerance for anyone voiced by Bob Marx.

It's not my fault I saw the series 30 years ago... :sd:

It's been a while since I've seen the show.
As for favorite character, that would be May.
Who would I choose? That hot neighbor girl who's got the the ladder into his room.
Third option: Slow and painful death. I didn't like a single thing about that character.

1) May & Kasumi
2) Kasumi - I like 'em human, and she can flash her underwear at me anytime.
3) More funny than annoying.

Kasumi is the epitome of the "girl next door".
Not my next door, unfortunately. I voted Kasumi and Sara (though I had to leave off Kei and Mami who are awesome like apple sauce), Kasumi, and more annoying than funny. But then again, if Nanbara wasn't more annoying than funny, he wouldn't have been as great a character as he was.

Heh. Maybe it's age talking, but I thought Kasumi's mom might be a fun neighbor too.... ;)

Mmmm... yes. Chigusa Tani. If Kasumi was able to refer to me as "Mom's boyfriend", I'd be a pretty happy guy.

I know I posted a thread about this and I like the show, but I can't remember who was who so... :sd: But for the last question, Nanbara MUST DIE.

Yes! A HMM poll! I just finished re-watching this series again.
The show is a guilty pleasure, but I do really enjoy it. And the opening song is highly addictive (Yes I actually bought the soundtrack.)
Poll votes:
1) Mami & Sara: Sara is a total honey and I love her outfit. She amuses me. But Mami is just plain awesome. Something about the dub VA's "Oh, my, my." Totally wins my heart.
2) Kasumi. Best girl next door ever. Hands down. I want her to win.
3) More funny. Come on you have to love his rap and his admission of affection for Sara.
