View Full Version : Worth upgrading to R2J Sailor Moon S?

The R1 audio quality of early volumes of Super S, while not anywhere like as bad as seasons 1 & 2, was enough to make me buy SS on laserdisc.

Only BSSM I have not got a Japanese market version of is S, as its my least favourite series. How much better/more noticable are the R2J (& LD) versions of S compared to R1?

Are the DVDs better in any other ways apart from audio?

I've not bought SMS R2 yet but unremastered vs. remastered... going to side with the R2s for clean audio and crisp picture. And previews and prologues.

I have all the SM R2J's barring the classic season because finding the Volume 7/8 + collectors box is like finding the golden eagle.

Yes they are INFINITELY worth it but if you want the collectors boxes they were first press and you're gonna have a hard job getting the....Yahoo Japan....$$$$$.....

Something tells me I should have bought those boxes I saw for sale when I was in Japan last year. ^^;; They were only, like, 2000 yen.

I got all of Classic (including the box), the movie box and Stars vol 1 and vol 6+box while I was in Japan last year. I intend to get the rest of Stars eventually, but I managed to convince myself not to get the last vol + box releases for the other 3 seasons (and the live action series!) on account of the fact that I've spent far too much money buying Sailor Moon DVDs already and I really don't need those middle 3 seasons all over again ^^; I made an exception for Classic because it's my favourite season and the R1's audio quality is really awful.
