Now, supposedly in a recent convention Ouran High School Host Club got licensed. This is very, very, very good news. Thing is...does anyone know who?

Err... where did you get this information from? Or is this just a rumor originating from a few months back (where supposedly Viz said someone else had it and it wasn't them)

Where did you get this information from? Not that I wouldn't be happy about it.

I assume you're going off the report some time ago when Viz[?] said someone has it, but it isn't them?

Nobody knows anything further. And of course such vague responses don't always turn out being true either (Pita Ten, Da Capo...)

So no, officially, it's not licensed yet at all.

Sadness then. Who would it go to, I wonder? I don't see why it wouldn't come over. It is a Bones show, and the manga and anime (fansubbed) was rather big in the fan community.

If it's not Viz, I could easily see it going to just about anyone. Funi, Geneon, ADV, maybe even Bandai, but I recall reading that they said the same thing (someone has it and its not them).

My gut instinct says FUNi, especially as there are people there known to be Ouran fans. They're probably saving the announcement for AX or Otakon.

I really hope Ouran gets licensed. I saw the first 4 episodes at last years Otakon, and it shot up no. 1 on my most wanted licenses.

I heard the same rumors that at Anime Boston (I believe that was the con) that both Viz and Bandai both said that they wanted the license, but it went to somebody else. I hope it's Funi :) !

While I don't know about Funi having the license, I do agree that Ouran is probably being saved up for either AX or Otakon. After all, Funi did intentionally save their School Rumble licensing announcement for last year's Otakon.

I loved Ouran, so funny! I'll definitely buy it if it gets an R1 license.
