What does everything think of the new episodes of Genshiken? Episodes 13 and 14 (both season 2 released as OVA) have been out for a little while now.
I think they're absolutely great. Ogiue is a nice new addition to the cast, and Kuchi is a bit of a surprise.
Better animation quality, a nicer OP, and more hilarious character interactions for Genshiken fans. I think Madarame and Kasukabe fans are definitely in for a treat.
God I'm so happy they're releasing new Genshiken :D

Hmm, so they are following the rest of the manga storylines then?

If the two OAV episodes I saw at a recent convention are any indication, then yes. Sequences shown included Ogiue's introduction and subsequent 'ambush' complete with Ohno's "This is what I !#$* to"; Saki giving fashion advice to Ogiue and Madarame; and Saki & Madarame at the kaiten (?) sushi place.

So what is the relation of the OAV episodes to the new season? Are they going to remake them for the TV series? Or are they just going to continue the TV series after the OAVs?

If I understand your question correctly, I believe the OAV episodes are considered a continuation of the TV series. So since the TV series ended at episode 12, the first two OAV episodes of the new season are considered episodes 13 and 14 respectively.
So the new OAV episodes can just be considered new episodes of the TV series.
Hope that answered your question.

I think the question was, if the OAV episodes are a continuation of the first TV series, then what will happen at the beginning of the second (as yet unaired) TV series? Will they continue from where the OAVs left off, or will they reset the timeline?

The OVAs are officially numbered as episodes 13, 14, and 15, and they basically follow the major events in the manga that take place after the respective manga chapters that the TV series was based on.
I seriously doubt that the new TV season will overwrite them and not continue from them.
