Cleaning a DS Lite?

I've noticed that my DS Lite has been accumulating a lot of speckles of debris on the sides, underneath the tightly sealed plastic. I know it's a minor thing, but it bothers me. Is there any way that I can at least get some of the junk out without breaking the plastic all together?

I might try one of those canned air things that people use on keyboards, but I'm not 100% sure it would work.
