View Full Version : Recent (ep 131) Bleach quality...

Oh man...I love this show, but the animation quality in this ep was astonishingly bad. I mean, bad like nothing that's been bad before. REEEEEALLY bad.

That's representative of the entire ep. Sweet merciful crap, that was hard to watch. I can only hope they get it turned around (by next week). Ugh.

That is pretty godawful. On the bright side, this is still filler, right?

Yeah, its still filler. And probably will be for a while.
The animation was crummy, but its not like it would have been any more enjoyable with better animation. The storyline was dull and, at times, hurt my brain with the stupidity of the characters and the plot points. According to Filler Hitsaguya, Hollows can become Arrancar by absorbing enough/certain souls or something. And the little brat annoyed me to no end.
I think next week's episode is going to be just silly with no real plot, so hopefully it will actually be enjoyable.
Is it just me or does this show seem taboo for discussion these days for certain reasons?
Anyway, the difference between filler and manga content has become almost absurdly large in Bleach. The nice thing is that the filler is pretty encapsulated so you can basically skip over it like it was never there in future viewings. Hopefully the dvd release schedule will work out so that filler arcs start and stop on volumes in their entirety so we can skip them with maximum convenience.
I can appreciate saving the budget for the episodes that matter, but if the team is going to be this lazy they really should just put the show into re-runs during these times despite how uncommon that is for anime. I can't understand why they don't use the time to try to do some character development for the secondary characters instead of these pathetic attempts at providing intermission action plots instead. For the love of God I need more Hinamori!
I wish I had the picture of a no head Naruto in one of the older Naruto episodes. But yeah, everything has issues when it comes to animation. This pops up a lot when you have long running series like a Inu Yasha, Bleach, and Naruto. I'm used to it anymore as they have a tight deadline to get shows out by so you get the "Gonzo effect" on almost every show in at least one episode.
I read somewhere that the people in Japan actually liked the Bounto filler arc. That's really hard to believe. I wonder what they'd say about this crappy filler? Perhaps they like it too because Rangiku is the center of attention this time around? Either way, I tend to just ignore what's going on in Bleach when there's filler episodes. I just hope that they'll make attempts to catch up with the REAL storyline within a few weeks. On second thought, considering how close they are trailing behind the manga, I have a feeling we'll be suffering from fillers for another month or two, maybe as far as into October when the new anime season begins. Ugh.

Sorry, I haven't been keeping up... but they're already back to filler?! It's barely been a whole season!
They're splicing little short filler arcs into the show because it's catching up with the manga too fast. It's hurting the show alot overall too. Bleach felt like it was coming back to it's A game for a little bit a few episodes after the Bounto arc ended, but since that it's been completely hit and miss.

Oh dear. That image hurt my eyes. I tend to stay with short series but I have made an exception with this. I don't find what I saw to be very encouraging.

This is pretty much the reason why I stopped watching after episode 125. I'm just going to marathon it through when I get a chance instead of waiting for and watching each filler episode.

I'll continue to watch every new ep, but man oh man, do I hope the quality improves. I expect the writing to take a dump once they leave the manga, but I can't understand how the visual quality of this ep got OK'd. It was horrendous from start to finish.

This is just as hilarious as the Boys Be... animation inconsistencies. Though it's probably some interns' work while the regulars are vacationing.

Is the Bleach filler similar to the Naruto filler in that none of it has plot points of real importance to the over all long term story, or are they trying to keep some aspect of the main storylione alive while trying to keep the distance between show and manga, aka having thier cake and eating it to?
Well, they kind of are, but they're really weak connections at best and you wouldn't be hurt at all by skipping them. Basically the anime team tries to come up with little things to tie the filler into the main story, but the quality of the writing and concepts is so bad that it ends up hurting the show more than if they hadn't tried at all. Just like how the choreography of the fight scenes goes from incredible to retarded during filler. I think this kind of Jekyll and Hyde personality the show is forming is going to tank it eventually.
I'm seriously considering getting into Bleach as my first manga because of the way the anime team keeps butchering the show.

Do you suppose animation edits/improvements will be made for DVD releases ala Negima? I'm doubting it though as the fillers don't seem to be worth it. I pity those paying the exhorbitant R2 prices to collect each volume.

I really hope they improve the canon episodes that had poor animation quality, but I really don't give a damn what they do with the filler episodes because they are pretty dull even if the animation and art was improved.
