What do you rate the greatest wheeled motor vehicle chases & races in anime?
Please say the participants, show, & circumstance if possible.
My favourite from memory is still the chase in Riding Bean, where he & Rally are in his "Beanmobile" going after Semmerling in her BMW.

Adolescence of Utena.
I've already said too much. :>
Anthy and the Utenamobile's metaphoric journey to bringing the world revolution and conquering Dios's grip on them in the closed world of Ohtori, along with the pursuit of them by the Shiorimobile which ends in a flaming wreck. :sweatdrop:
Cowboy Bebop (both the series and the movie) have some good chases in them, if you count spacecraft as motor vehicles. The early episode in the series when Spike and Faye are after the eco-terrorists in the hyperspace tunnel stands out to me.

:D Isn't the entire Birth movie one long chase scene?
:sd: Coyote Ragtime Show is also basically one big cops-and-robbers chase combined with a beat-the-clock treasure hunt.

Ah! That one is a classic. I currently have Battle Athletes Victory in my mind, so I'd have to give a nod there.

Having trouble thinking of any good ones, but Zaizen Jotaro definitely had the worst.
I'd have to go with Black Lagoon where you had Roberta going after the gang first on foot then in a car. Thinking shes gone all of the sudden she flies off a roof of a building, smashes the front end of the Lagoon company's car, then smashes into a local shop only to come out ready to go. It was a great scene.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the 2nd 'Lupin the III' movie 'The Castle of Cagliostro' which was the movie director debut of Hayao Miyazaki

Well, I'm surprised no one has yet mentioned the bike chase scene in AKIRA. To me, that movie was one of the first anime outside of Dragonball Z I ever saw and that bike scene near the beginning of the movie has always left a lasting impression on me.

Riding Bean mentioned, but what about the drive scene between Rally and Radinov from Gunsmith Cats? Off the Chiacgo interstate and into the water in a blaze of...well...in a blaze actually - one of the first anime DVDs I watched and I still remember that scene...

I'm gonna go with You're Under Arrest episode 1, the chase where Natsumi and Miyuki are after the red car. I've always enjoyed that one, especially how he always called them "Koneko-chan" XD

This would have to be one of my favorites too. Gotta love Mustangs.

Seconded. That scene is one of the ones I can recall from Akira the easiest. The music that accompanied it was superb, great choice.
Any of those scenes with Natsumi breaking out her little scooter always got me revved up! :D
In Secret of Mamo(Lupin III movie),there is a pretty good scene with a giant semi trying to run the boys off the road. A little unrealistic I think, that truck was freaking HUGE, but it sure was fun. :)

I think one of the YUA episodes had a good chase of a yellow Lotus, the girls in Miyuki's Honda Today, & Ken on his Kawasaki KLR600.
Must watch eX-Driver again as well :)
