which gundam seires should i start getting

I have decided to trash my old bootlegs of the gundam shows. i want to replace them with the r2's i have watch all of them. just cant decided which series to start with. thinking of going with first gundam, sincethe first box set is on sale at cdjapn. any recomedations be greatley aperciated.

I think the best Gundams would be 0080 and First. I love G, but it's very un-Gundam-like and more akin to Giant Robo. I'd get bullshit for recommending Wing, but if you can look beyond the "wow bishounen" factor, it's a pretty interesting Ethos of War story.
