Alright, so I just got through with my grind on all 24 episodes of Maburaho with ADV's thinpack. It's a very enjoyable series to watch and it definitely ranks among the best series I've ever seen. But there is one thing in my mind, actually a couple:

1. What exactly is Maburaho? I don't even think they mentioned the word throughout the entire series.
2. Is there another season or possibly an OVA of Maburaho?

Probably some Japanese word. Though it may simply be a gibberish title.

As for the series no follow up,no OAV just the manga that it's based on

UnknownFate kind of has it right.

On the extras of Volume 1, translator Richard Kim explains that the word really has no meaning. But he goes on to say that the closest he can come to figuring out why they used that word was that it's probably a compilation of two Japanese words...

Maho(sp?) which loosely means magic

and Mabu(sp? again) which means love. Sort of hinting to "love within magic" I suppose :)

Hope that helped a little.

Edit:

Just as an aside note, I too enjoyed the series. Definitely not the greatest but certainly not the worst. I have a penchant for harem-esque animes, but even I found the ending weak and akin to a "copout" as far as a solution to all of Kazuki's troubles.

They could have ended it better... but that's just my opinion :)

Actually, what it is is:

Mahou (*法), which means magic, wizardry, sorcery, etc.

Rabu (ラブ), Japanese-ified way of saying "Love"; e.g. it's a loan word. However, it's put in-between the Ma and Ho and the syallables reversed, to give you Ma-bu-ra-ho (no extended vowel in the title of the show and the title is all written in hiragana: まぶらほ).

At least that's how he explained it (the translator). Sounds good to me. :D
