To go with the "too long" thread, what are some games that you have played that were too short?
One game that comes to mind for me is Zone of the Enders II. I beat it the first time through in (probably) less than 3 hours. My fastest time through is a little over an hour. It was great and I wish there had been more of it.

All of the episodic Sam & Max games Telltale Games has released over the past year or so. Just when you're really getting into them, they end. This is especially annoying with "Abe Lincoln Must Die!" and "Reality 2.0," which were by far the best episodes of the "season" and had the most potential for more content.
I just hope Telltale plans on making the "Season 2" games longer with more intricate puzzles this time.
Parasite Eve (minus the tacked-on malarkey in the Chrysler Building). It's one of my favorite Playstation games despite clocking in at under five hours for a full playthrough — and they could have had so much more in the game, given it takes place over the course of six days.

Likewise, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker was a game that was way too short if you take out the pointless, irritating fishing trip that was put into the game late in development BECAUSE they didn't have the time to finish the last two second-half dungeons. Take out the fishing quest and you're looking at only 6 dungeons in the entire game (7 if you're generous and counting Ganon's Tower). Compare that to Twilight Princess's 9 dungeons.

There are times I wish Threads of Fate was at least a slight bit longer. Then again because it's so short it becomes what I'd call a good commercial break game.

The first Stafi game is rather short compared to the sequels.
Also the WarioWare games are really short as well, but they're still fun to play. In fact, a lot of the early Nintendo launch games like Yoshi's Touch & Go and those Wiiwhatever games that just show off what the system can do are very short. However, those Wii games are hours of fun with multiplayer.

ummmm...not sure what else. Panzer Dragoon Orta I guess. I don't think I have any other short games, since I primarily play RPGs.

Didn't the same thing happen with "Ocarina of Time"? Something like that was why Gannon's castle was so short and easy I heard.
Uhh, anyone play that Tenchi RPG game for Super Nintendo? That had to be the shortest RPG I've ever played. Still darn fun though :frog:

I think they mean it's too short if you do nothing more than the main quest. You have to admit, between the boating and the picture taking there is a lot of dinking around in Wind Waker.
Zone of the Enders 2
MGS 3(take away the boss fights and cut scenes)
Twilight Princess(could of been much more)
Time Splitters 2
Star Wars Battlefront(more levels damnit)
Twilight Princess(could of been much more)
How much more do you want out of that game? I spent over 60 hours on it! If I hadn't finished it when I did, I might have put it aside and never found out what a babe Midna really is.
I'm reminded of one game in particular which even the developer acknowledges is shorter than it should be:
• Final Fantasy IV
I think that my last playthrough (FF4A) clocked in at about 15 hours, which is almost comically short for an RPG, but they say that less than half of the scenario written for the game actually fit on a SNES cart. They also say that FF4DS will have much of that extra material added back into the game. Good thing, too, as most of the characters didn't get much development and a couple of the towns were there just for the sake of being there.

Trace Memory for the DS. You can beat the entire game with the best ending and find everything in about 5 hours. And that's without a guide. With a guide you could probably shorten that time. It's too bad because it is a good game.
I loved the game, enjoyed the temples but that was it. Sure you have the little mini games like the chicken thing, the boat bomb ride, and other little things to do, but nothing on the scale of Majora's mask or OOT.
It just felt really linear in "go here for this piece" and "oh, this person is telling me exactly where I have to go to get this". While the game was long dungeon wise, it just felt like they should of portaled you dungeon to dungeon if they weren't going to populate the world with anything.

Snatcher was a great game, but I really wished it was longer.
I thought both Max Payne games were a bit too short as well.

Heh. 3 hours? that one took me 3 years. :) 'Twasn't a constant playthrough or anything, I just took my time with it - a bit here, reached an impasse, went back to it months later. played some more, etc.
Heck, I finished the thing only a few weeks ago - what an epic battle that was! - and went back to it again as one of Jehuty's more powerful forms. Nephtis didn't even stand a chance. :)
There's also the unlockable extra missions and hidden mechs to find as well. I haven't found 'em all yet. Now the first ZOE game, that was short. That took 3 days to finish. Fantastic game while it lasted, though. I need to get back to it again as there are some hidden stages in that one too.
As for really short games, the one that comes to mind is Gunhed on the PC engine. That one's supposed to last for just 2 minutes, only as it's such a rock hard game, it would take you considerably longer to beat it.
That one was from back in those ancient times when games didn't have save states, and dinosaurs weren't confined to zoos...

If boating wasn't essential to completing the main quest (especially the retardedly tacked on 9 piece tri-force scavenger hunt) then i'd understand.

Which is why I noted that I only considered Wind Waker "way too short" if you took out the Triforce hunt at the end of the game. Disregarding that, the main quest is ridiculously short.
And yes, Twilight Princess has some serious "empty world" problems. You'd really think after crafting such an intricate world in Majora's Mask that they could do it again on a MUCH more powerful system. Still a kickass game, though.

Guitar Hero Encore:Rocks The 80's. At only 30 songs with no bonus tracks you can finish the entire game in about two hours. I actually timed myself when i borrowed a friends copy and i got halfway through my Hard career path in one hour so i figured if i had kept playing i would get the whole game unlocked in another hour.

Gears of War, primarily because the story's complete and utter collapse in the last act makes it painfully clear that they didn't have time to finish the game.

Gauntlet: The Seven Sorrows. I like fantasy co-op games, but that one was finished in only one night. Compared to something like Dark Alliance I and II it was a disappointment, because it was so short.
Don't worry, you can buy the PC version for stuff they held back from the 360 version. That and you can pick up that spiffy new bandanna for five bucks over at Xbox Live marketplace!

I had to keep the universal balance of "I R FANBOY!" posts throughout the internet.
:>
Most of the games in this thread are still rather long...
Anyway, here's my picks:
Beyond Good and Evil- I mistakenly rented this game during one of my workplace's busiest periods ever. I hardly touched it yet I still managed to beat the game. Not quite 100% completion, but pretty damn close.
Tomb Raider Legend- the creators seemed to have collected and concentrated the greatest aspects of the series, but all that seemed to have made the game a little too short.
Lego Star Wars 1- one of the episodes was one level less than the others and the lengths of some of the levels themselves were short.
