Can someone direct me to a topic that explores the Meter 13 ep sequel to Galaxy Express that aired in 2004? Also if someone can direct me to a place that sells the dvds of these? I believe Vol 2 is hard to find. Thanks in advance!

There are no topics exploring Uchu Kokyoshi Maetel: Ginga Tetsudo 999 Gaiden. I never started one. I watched the series. It was OK, but without Ikeda Masako playing Maetel, I had a hard time loving it.
The series was good, but nothing OMFG amazing.
Seems vol. 2 should be hard to find as it is listed on CD Japan as being Out Of Print. Volume 1 + 2 is also OOP, but that's to be expected as that was like a first press limited edition set that had the 2 singles in the box.
You can buy them from CD Japan (vol. 1, 3-6):
Uchuu Kokyoshi Maetel CD Japan (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/search.html?type=GC&restrict=DVD&strict=&word=space+symphony)
If you go by Amazon Japan's listings, it seems more than just 2 is OOP.
Amazon Japan listing (http://www.amazon.co.jp/s/ref=nb_ss_d/250-3445412-9853830?__mk_ja_JP=%83J%83%5E%83J%83i&initialSearch=1&url=search-alias%3Ddvd&field-keywords=%89F%92%88%8C%F0%8B%BF%8E%8D%83%81%81%5B% 83e%83%8B&Go.x=8&Go.y=16&Go=Go)
Your safest bet may be to try Yahoo Auctions Japan and a deputy service.
Here's a search for 宇宙交響詩メーテル (Uchu Kokyoshi Maetel) (http://search4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/search?alocale=0jp&acc=jp&p=%B1%A7%C3%E8%B8%F2%B6%C1%BB%ED%A5%E1%A1%BC%A5%C6 %A5%EB&auccat=21964)
You can bid on it through Rinkya (http://www.rinkya.com), Shopping Mall Japan (http://www.shoppingmalljapan.com) or Masato/M-World Services (http://www.m-world-service.com/). There is another service out there, Celga, whom I wouldn't recommend to anyone but my worst enemy, and even then I'd hesitate.
I recommend Shopping Mall Japan if you live in the US as their fees and bulk shipping give you the cheapest prices.

It has its moments... ;-) The music's nice in places, and Ikeda does do the voice over, IIRC?? Animation's a bit pants, but aren't they all these days?
Keisuke Masunaga's designs are growing on me, even if Eiji Takemoto's Harlock and Kappei Yamaguchi's Tochiro take some getting used to... (Can anyone understand a word these two mumble??!!) And I still giggle my way through the Deathshadow's entrance... ;-)
It's a "join the dots" piece of ret-conning though in places... "How Heavy Meldar got a moon called "Lar Metal""; "Why Maetel's such a useless drip in the films when facing her mother"; "Why there's a piece of machinery on board the D/shadow that can download a human mind into a machine..." and on that LAST point, Spoiler
I defy anyone who's ever seen the devastating effect Tochiro's fate had on Harlock in later years to watch a certain scene towards the end and notice who seems to be advocating using the damn thing the hardest, without a cold chill of foreshadowing and a lump in your throat...
Has some nice touches if you're familiar with the manga version of Queen Millennia, though will certainly baffle the hell out of anyone who's only ever seen the TV series - has a little more connection to the film, but not much!!
spoiler (speculation)
Oddly, I also got the impression that Maetel seems to be taking over some of the emotional baggage *Maya* had in AOMY in relation to Harlock... Now I'm not sure if they actually intended to suggest Tochiro and Harlock were "double dating" with the lovely twins <g>, but some of the dialogue is eerily reminiscent of the distant "I'd do anything for her but she wouldn't thank me for interfering" affection the Harlock of AOMY had for the doomed Maya... (...hmmm... and they both have a skull and crossbones scarab locket... Leiji san is noted for re-using motifs, relationships and symbols, after all!) and like Maya, Maetel takes her own path to fight in her own way that effectively takes her well out of Harlock's reach - and Emeraldas' description of the outwardly frail but inwardly burning Maya in AOMY applies just as well to her sister... Given Matsumoto's re-jigging of the backstories in recent years, I do wonder... <g>

Anything there about Zero Spoiler
And him possably bieng Tetsuro's father, as well as eventually becoming Faust?
I would have liked to see something more of that covered.

Nope. From the ages of the characters and the relative timelines, it's set about 5 years before Cosmo Warrior Zero - and it's only in the game version that Harlock and Zero were friends before the events of the CWZ story...

<grins> Seeing how thin the chances of an English (or rather an "American"...;-P) translation ever were for most of Matsumoto's work was the reason I taught myself Japanese... That way you're not dependent on corporate and marketing whims - just the depth of your credit card's pockets!! ;-P (Sitting on my arse waiting on other people to do something, when there's a solution to hand isn't something I'm good at!<g>)

Pffft. Plenty young enough then!! <g> I'm 18 months off 40!!
Started learning Japanese at 35 and thus far can now pick my way through non-furigana'd text with a Wordtank to hand, though I prefer the superscripting. Still struggle on some shows without subs though (vocabulary still a bit limited!) and Matsumoto's colloquial dialogue can be tough to follow at times! But honestly, I wish I'd been able to start this earlier, while I still had more free time and a younger brain!!
