Are there any characters you found annoying at first but then these characters realized that they were annoying to the rest of the cast and then made a great effort to become less annoying?

Coyote Ragtime Show
- The three triplets of the 12 sisters (October, November and December).
I wish they were killed by Mister and his gang. Or at least by Angelica. Out of the terrorists in the anime, these triplets were the worse.
- Kakei Shun
They kept on boasting how their team's height would eventually topple over Deimon and would go to the Christmas Bowl. For them, they were sadly mistaken, thinking that size matters in a football game. And for Kakei, he was the one to; "Eat those words" thinking that Sena was a "fake Eyeshield 21".
As for Ojo, at least they're starting to recognize Deimon's potential to grow in their skills. As compared to Poseidon where they show off by boasting -- Shin just tells Sena up front what he needs to work on and his strength and weaknesses are.
- Natsuhiko Taki
Sena's more mature than him lmao

Hina-Ichigo from Rozen Maiden would be another.

May and Leon from Kaleido Star: New Wings are almost unforgivably aggravating throughout most of the series, but they do change by the end.

Hikaru in Kimagure Orange Road. In the 2nd movie "Summer's Beginning", she has grown up, done soul searching & been through a rough time. As a result she is sensible, sensitive & sweet. And a stunna.
I'd love to see the "reborn" Asuka's changes in any sequel to End of Evangelion.
2 characters, both voiced by Kae Araki, mature through their series. Miaka in Fushigi Yugi has become a better person by the end of the TV series, & is 3/4 adult for the OVAs. Chibi-Usa becomes less bratty in Sailor Moon. By the ending of Super S & start of Stars, she is much more likable. YMMV :)

There's also Noriko in Gunbuster. She went from being a pathetic crybaby in the first episode to a girl with a backbone in the last few episodes (she still cried occasionally, but she apologized for it).

I dislike this assertion that Crying == Annoying universally

Mashiro from My Otome - She was way too spoiled of a brat at the beginning who was handed the title of queen, but then, a series of unfortunate events unfolded that change her forever.
Michiru from Air - She picked on Yukito all the time at the beginning, until Minagi's story unfolded.
Asuna from Negima - She starts out trying to push Negi out the door, but then starts to grow close to him. Then a secret has her acting differently towards the end.

Motoko from Love Hina.
A mean bitch at first but she ended up SOO cute later in the series.
