No idea where that came from.

There has been no news about a new Please! series.

Checked ANN and they still say 12 episodes and one OVA, which is what's already been released. While it seems unlikely that they'd re-visit One2 after all this time (especially since it seems like the story is done already), stranger things have happened.

Never heard of plans for a second season (and what is there left to tell of the story?). There was some sort of radio drama, I believe (Please! Friends or something like that), but no more anime as far as I know.

No Please.

I liked Please Teacher, but I had to struggle to get through Please Twins. I'm all set with a second season.

I'd really like to see a series where Mizuho and Kei live the newlywed life after school.

Ah, I'm pretty sure this is just a translation error. If you look at the Japanese version on NeoWing (http://www.neowing.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=BCBA-2989), I think they're actually saying that Please Twins is the second show in the "Onegai Series" (as in, it's the sequel to Please Teacher). I'm assuming the translator just mixed up a few things. Maybe someone with better Japanese proficiency can confirm, but that's what it looks like to me.

That's right. The description is just messed up, as it is supposed to be the second "Please" Series.

Considering how well "Teacher" did and how bad "Twins" were, it would be a terrible move to release a second season for that series instead of the first one.

Opinion opinion is opinion.

Teacher sucks.

Twins is better.

Bah, all the Twins hate (and how do we know one did better than the other?). First time I watched, I liked Teacher significantly more. Second time I watched, they were pretty even. Third time I watched, I think I'd give Twins a slight edge.

I'd absolutely love to see a third Please* series. And I doubt a third installment would be a second season specifically of one or the other, it'd just be another series in the same setting. I don't think we'll see one regardless though, unfortunately.

I'm tired of both series. If they're going to make anymore, I'd rather it have nothing to do with the 1st 2 series and they better make something called Please yuri. :>

The Onegai series was planned from the start to be a series of shows, but something must've happened. Onegai Friends was next inline to get animated but it never got off the ground. Both the existing Onegai animes began as dramas just like Friends.

Was that stated officially? I could never find out if that was more than a rumor.

Haha, that's where we placed our hopes in seeing Please Friends maybe get animated, but from reading a plot synopsis, it's decidedly heterosexual. Bah.

Please Teacher still remains one of my favorite anime romance shows.

Please Twins utterly bored me. It was just the same "we have the same blue eyes!" and "Love Alliance" stuff repeated every episode, like the writers were afraid we wouldn't remember. And I found the pacing slow as molasses, coupled with repetitive music. If it got a new season, unless a lot of problems were fixed, I won't bother.

Personally, I just want another series with tasty character designs by Taraku Uon. Onegai Lesbians will do nicely, but I'd also say "VERY YES!" to another R.O.D installment.

Count me in the "liked Please Twins" camp. I wouldn't mind at all if there was a sequel, though I'm not sure what you'd do with it. R.O.D. should be an ever ongoing franchise. They've got the novels and the manga to draw from and I would be quite happy to see a new series. (Especially if they used the sexy Lily the Reader from the Read or Dream manga. Lesbian seductions all around! )

Coming soon in 2008 will be the new series Please figure out what "D" in R.O.D. stands for this time :P Hey anything could happen right?

As for Please Teacher vs Please Twins. To be fair Please Teacher has some rather nice side characters and the story concerning Ichigo was nice. However the leads sucked. Thanks to their boring as hell automatic relationship created from an inane plot device.

I think the thing that gives Please Twins the edge for me is that it puts to light a very interesting question. Is it better to have the security of being a relative or the stranger's chance of being able to move forward? Granted if all three had been into incest then there would be no need for debate. Also to be honest I like the leads in Twins a lot better than the leads in Teacher. At the very least I'd prefer either Karen or Mina over Mizuho.

On a final note people love to use the repetitive lines of Twins against it as if it's the only series to use it. Remember it's a priority one. We have to move forward. It's a priority one. We have to move forward. That being said I'm not sure if either series has much staying power or if I have any real interest in a Third Please series .

So yeah, it's hardly restricted to Twins.

I don't know if it was official but the word was it died in the planning stages for some reason. I suppose that makes it rumor more or less.

Agreed. He only seems to work with certain people, and I haven't seen a show with his designs for quite some time now. I'd pay anything for a artbook of his works, but none seem to exist.

I liked Please Teacher, if anything because it felt like an A!MG clone. Please Twins was okay, just a little icky. I wouldn't oppose another "Please" series if they just keep it grounded. This whole dating teachers and sisters thing isn't doing it for me.

Meh, Rumbling Hearts is better than both. :P

Onegai Teacher was very nice for me, while Twins was ok; not as good as Teacher but still ok. I wouldn't mind a 3rd series that joins the characters of the 2 series or so if there is any. But i believe that there won't be any and it's only a translator's mistake or so....or perhaps not :sd:

Onegai Teacher was about a 50/50 split of serious and stupid. The formular does not work for everybody, but it did for me. The serious moments like the episodes dealing with Kei and Ichigo really worked in the show IMO, and the less serious parts didn't take away from that. This is still the only clear example of a show that I loved despite really disliking the main couple though.

Twins, on the other hand, is about 90% stupid and 10% serious and the overall quality of storytelling just was not as good. As mindless eyecandy it succeeds but you have to turn your brain off for this show.

I recall reading an interview somewhere with Gohda Hiroaki stating that he loved adapting Uon Taraku's artwork which was part of why there was a Teacher sequel in the first place but when the opportunity for the Ah My Goddess! TV series came up, he got called back to directing (They had been bugging him about a TV series run since his directional work on the movie turned so many heads) and this was part of why Friends! could never take off as a series.

With Gohda out with directors duties on AMG! they couldn't get the main four heads of Please! together again. Those four being director, (Ide) scenario, (Kuroda) original designs (Uon) and Gohda, who did the character design adaptations for the anime.

I'd like to see another Please! series just because I'd like to see these four together on another project but I think I'd prefer they start from scratch as opposed to trying to cram a third series with first and second series fan service. (Which I felt was Twin's one weak point) Especially if it meant a return of Takase Kazuya, Nakazawa Tomoyuki and Orito Shinji for the music...

Maybe a prequel revolving around Yamada's circumstances when he was in high school or something. (He was the Tech. teacher that Herikawa fell for) Or maybe much later with a story about the girl at the beach with her dog once she hits high school ^_-

I have said it many times and I'll say it again: Onegai Ichigo. Powers that be: get it done. :neko:
