As some of you may know, there is a Noramimi anime coming soon that is based on the manga. The concept sounds really interesting to me, so could someone enlighten me on what the manga is about and how good it is and etc.? If curiosity does eventually get the best of me, I might read the manga first to get a good idea of what it's about.

That does not look appealing at all. :sd:

That's what I thought, but decided to let people make their own decisions.
Ikki often seems to mistake edgy and underground for can't draw and can't write.

Hey, they run Bokurano, so I could care less what else is in it :). All power to Ikki! (Note my Avatar I've had for nearly 5 years)

Yeah, Bokura no, Freesia, Daisuke Igarashi's stuff, and RideBack are all amazing, and they've run some great short books like Fruits or Sukima Suki.
But there's a lot of baffling stuff as well.

I agree that the art style isn't too appealing. This is just such a major contrast to...Children of the Sea. :sd:

Well, I've read some of the manga, and I'll agree that it doesn't have the best art or writing I've ever seen. However, it's cute and relaxing, so I enjoy reading it even though it can get repetitive. I'll probably check out the anime.

From that page i'll pass, it has zero appeal to me.

Freesia

Until Matsumoto forgot that he should have some direction over where the story is going. Maybe he'll be able to pull it all together (volume nine is released next week), but I definitely prefer his short stories.

I've never bothered to check out Noramimi. Anything that isn't the generic BESM design I'll go for, so art was never an issue with me. The premise just isn't attractive.

Carlo Santos of ANN went over the first volume in one his RTO (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/right-turn-only/2007-01-09) articles (see the bottom). That might give a better idea of whether you'd like it or not.

It did sort of meander for a bit, but I thought the last volume, with the shift in perspective, was a blast. I agree he needs to settle back in on his main characters, and bring the original partner back - he really balanced out the crazy lead.

I'm not familiar with this one at all, but honestly, I did find myself interested in what I saw through the link posted. Makes me think of the Gerotan gag character from Cromartie High. :sd:

Noramimi is awesome stuff. Definitely an Ikki favorite of mine. Even if I think the anime won't capture the spirit of the manga, I owe it to myself to check this out.

Noramimi is a fundamentally great comic. Interesting art, novel concept, quirky characters and scenarios, and everything about it is done with quality. Not to mention it's the kind of story that pretty much anyone can enjoy.

Now, Freesia, on the other hand, is an absolute mess and I can't really understand why I keep buying it. Someone needs to axe it and tell Matsumoto to stick to short series.
