Saiunkoku Monogatari - go for R2?

Saiunkoku Monogatari is on its 2nd season release in Japan. I'll be buying the R1 as long as its released, but this is the least likely Geneon show to be "rescued" IMO, so am considering R2Js as there are no R3s yet. Part of the attraction for me is hearing Houko Kuwashima's voice :neko: along with seeing the lush video quality & good characterisation.

Is anyone here buying the R2s? Who are you buying them from? How far along is your buying?
Is a R3 release likely?

I'm not buying it (was planning on getting it R1, but beyond v.2 (which is possibly still getting released, I have little hope for it), but I've seen the listings at CD Japan.

Be prepared for a long haul. It's a hell of a lot of volumes R2 :sd:

I'm taking the wait and see approach.

I'm going to wait and see if anyone else picks it up before looking at alternatives. And by the time we figure it out, I'm hoping all the R2 volumes are released and I'll just jump on Yahoo Auctions Japan and score a complete set or something like that for much cheaper than MSRP even after deputy fees.

Series 2 vol.2 has recently been released according to Yesasia's banner advert here, so series 1 might already be around (though who buys an entire season to just auction it off so fast?)

Someone who buys it and doesn't mind DVD burns in their collection?

I figure I can wait a little longer. I'd rather have ZZ Gundam before Saiunkoku, and buying Saiunkoku would prevent ZZ loving in Oct/Nov. ;)

I wouldn't dismiss the idea so quickly, though I think now might be a little early.

I actually managed to score all of Aria the Animation as a used set (including box 1 :) but not box 2 :( ) when Aria the Natural was still being released (though it was up to around v.5 or 6, I think). Still, there are people who get a whole season, and then for some reason or another, decide to drop it and sell it all.

I think now might be a little early, but wait a few months and you never know.

I think some people do that so as to get all the LEs/first-press, watch the series,and then be able to sell it off as a complete set. Besides, over time, prices generally tend to drop oon complete sets,so if they want to sell them and get the best price...

I have everything released so far.....
I'm buying them from Amazon and getting the limited editions. However, I just picked up the last 5 on my lil trip so haven't had time to watch it all yet, but I'm definitely enjoying the series.
