Found this on Wikipedia:

"Due to low sales in the US, only four DVDs were released. This might be because the heavily edited version was being sold, and it had no Japanese audio or music.

Volume 1: The Quest Begins (Episodes 1-4)
Volume 2: Release The Beasts (Episodes 5-8)
Volume 3: The Sound Of Thunder (Episodes 9-12)
Volume 4: Mountains And Madmen (Episodes 13-16)

There is, however a DVD Boxset available in Japan only with all 51 episodes (Japanese audio, with English/Chinese subtitles), so true fans of the series can import the Japanese DVD Boxset."

I can't find the boxset on Amazon, HMV or CD Japan so is this just false info that somebody edited in or a bootleg?

It is a bootleg. I just confirmed it by checking its listing at a store that sells bootlegs.

Any time you see English/Chinese subtitles (and I'm sure the English ones barely qualify as "English") listed on a release, you can pretty much be sure it is a bootleg release.

Also, 51 episodes on 6 disks is also a pretty good indication that an "import boxset" is a bootleg - squeezing as many episodes they can record off of TV onto a DVD is a specialty of bootleggers.

Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from something like this as you can
