Episode 1:

- ...Fighting polar bears. Okay!
- Oh, yeah, I'm going to like this. Main guy, tied up in his classroom. Cute girl stands in front of him and lifts her skirt. He asks her if she knows wtf she's going, and she says "Of course. Sexual harassment, right?" XD Hell, a whole class of girls is surrounding him :sd:
- Everyone "loves seeing his troubled face" o_O after he escapes the girls by dislocating his arm, wiggling out of the ropes, and jumping out the window, he has to dodge a gauntlet of various dangerous objects.
- Then a huge chopper hovers overhead and out falls sexy, sexy Mayu. Right on Shungo's face >_>
- Flashback! Hello "childhood promise" plotline!
- Shungo wakes up in the nurses office, sharing a bed with (sexy, sexy) Mayu. He jumps out of bed, surprised. (Sexy, sexy) Mayu makes all sorts of interesting noises and twitches about in interesting ways, and is further living (well, ok...) proof that ribbons in hair are awesome but ribbons on arms or legs are EVEN BETTAR.
- She wakes up and is startled at Shungo so close to her (he's trying to put the sheet back over her), and pulls away. But then she touches him to see if he's ok, and then touches him more, because she's apparently surprised she can touch a male without getting freaked out.
- Then her brother comes in the window and hands Shingo a cellphone. His sister calls, tells him the Tsukimuras ([sexy, sexy] Mayu, and her brother) will be staring with them, tells him she'll be back for dinner... and then goes back to the intense urban warfare she's occupied with... o_O
- Mayu... has a severe fear of men. But at the same time whenever she's scared, all men around her become more or less zombies and fall totally in love with her. Baaaaad combination. It's Shungo's duty to protect her as long as she's living in the Ninomiya household... or else he'll regret the day he was born >_>
- A couple guys get a hold of her, but she emits some sort of purple aura that knocks them out :sd: Then Shungo takes charge, and escapes with her through the hoard of undead horny guys.
- They get back to the house and (sexy, sexy) Mayu offers to help him prepare dinner. And god I don't want her to ever get new clothes. Wear this white dress forever~~
- Okay, seriously, who tries to kiss girls after they fall unconscious on your kitchen floor? Granted, who loses consciousness from a little trip like that, but whatever.
- ...She's a succubus O_O That's... ahahahaha. Well, ok, that explains why he wanted to kiss the unconscious girl. Her powers are massive, so much so that she unconsciously attracts men to the extreme before they even realize it. So he has to live with a (sexy, sexy) girl who unconsciously gives all men raging hardons, and even though he has some natural resistance, just a kiss could possibly kill him. I sincerely hope he has good fap material available.
- She is one incredibly clumsy ditz. She also manages to lose consciousness at the drop of a hat, leaving her sprawled out in compromising positions. But it's all for the sake of JUSTICE!... I mean, fanservice.

So on top of the (sexy, sexy) succubus he'll die if he does anything with, he's stuck with her crazy brother who seems to WANT him to feel her up and die, and his equally insane sister who seems determined to film what might as well be a snuff film.

Well, yeah -- the whole "if you kiss her, you might die, but we want you to kiss her" thing is sort of funny/messy. It plays into the flashback scene they showed -- "If ever I can't wake up, then wake me up like a prince" -- because, of course, she's a succubus. So if she's unconscious, it's a bad idea to kiss her, because sucking his life would be her natural instinct (also why he's drawn to kiss her especially while she's unconscious -- she needs the energy!). If she were conscious and willing, though, the only real issue is her lack of control at the moment. They're obviously hoping that they kiss to help her get over her fear of guys. So it can work out for our star-crossed future lovers, he just has to stay alive long enough for her to get over her fears and get in control of her powers.

I normally like a little plot with my fanservice, but this show is so over-the-top that I enjoyed it in spite of myself. :neko:

So on top of the (sexy, sexy) succubus he'll die if he does anything with, he's stuck with her crazy brother who seems to WANT him to feel her up and die, and his equally insane sister who seems determined to film what might as well be a snuff film.

Well that was... interesting. Training with polar bears, sexual harassment by all(?) the females in the class, protecting/training childhood friend succubus, awesome super agent sister, and that's not all, theres another girl coming in the next episode (who is probably a vampire or something).

Yeah, I think I'll be watching this one.

A bit early to decide how I feel about this, but at the very least Mayu is hot and I'm interested in the blue haired girl. So I'll likely give it a few more episodes to see how the fanservice flows. A good flow will mean watching more.

Episode 2:

- Can I has Mayu doing retarded things and ending up in compromising poses? ...I can? Awesome, they just obviated all need for plot or character development. Seriously though, what the hell was that thing? It just looked like a normal paint roller or something, but it was all sticky. It's like the lint roller from hell.
- I melt every time Mayu says "Succubus". She tells Shungo that she's trying to keep her calm, because the calmer she is the better she can keep her powers in check.
- Enter Houjou Reika, voiced by Sawashiro Miyuki, who also played Shinku. That voice works very well for her.
- She berates Shungo as she apparently does every day, until she notices Mayu. Mayu greets her politely and they exchange names, but then Mayu inexplicably starts insulting Reika (saying her name sounds like a useless, stupid character from a shoujo manga). Afterwards she can't remember what happened. As soon as she heard Reika's voice her mind went blank and evil Mayu took over.
- Skimpy white dress is great but a black sukumizu is fine too. Mayu and Shungo are hit by a double whammy. The girls all hold Shungo down and, uh, fondle him a lot while the boys descend on Mayu, who makes the cutest goddamn noises when she's flustered.
- Shungo manages to save Mayu but brings the fencing around the pool down in the process. They rest up in the infirmary, where Shungo remembers more about the girl he knew when he was young. When he wakes up, he's in bed and Mayu is on all fours on top of him, and clearly she's been switched into RAPE MODE.
- Oh wow, she... she's going at it. Licking his neck and moaning a lot and basically not showing any restraint at all, though they're interrupted by sis and her camera. Apparently she's taken the position of school nurse. >_> Mayu seems to be back to normal, but with no idea of what was going on.
- Reika wants revenge. Mayu's brother uses this to his advantage and sets up a challenge between Mayu and Reika, which Reika gladly accepts because if Mayu loses, the Tsukimuras need to leave.
- The first is a cosplay showdown. Mayu's cleavage wins. The second is a clevage showdown. Mayu's cleavage wins. Interestingly, Reika isn't flat at all, when I expected her to be flat as a pancake as an opposite to Mayu. She's still much smaller than Mayu though. 2 out of 3, Reika is toast. But she gets them to put everything down on the final challenge. Ryouko agrees and reveals the task: be alone with Shungo and seduce him.
- She decides that if she's gotta do it, she's going to do it right. She steps into the other room, takes off her clothes, and changes into a white dress shirt and nothing else. While she's doing this, the exhausted Shungo falls asleep. She's taken by his sleeping face and is about to kiss him when he reacts automatically in his sleep and, uh, kinda snaps her neck. Then he pins her arms behind her back and continues sleeping.
- The others come in, call it all a tie, and tell Reika she has to become a live-in maid for the Ninomiyas. She objects of course, until Ryouko tells her she was filming everything, and she'll leak it on the internet if Reika refuses >_>

I love Reika lots. Definitely sticking with this show.

Of possible interest here is that this was a different girl than last time. Note the pendant, that Reika holds dearly later in the show. It seems he knew both Mayu and Reika as kids -- quite the playboy! :sd:

All in all, I agree -- Reika's a keeper. She's way too fun to tease, and the show's taking total advantage of it. And Mayu's apparently-split personality hints of things to come. I know some people say "who needs plot?" for a show like this, but hey -- I like it to be more than completely random. Though that opening scene was still fine. :sd:

This show is a lot of fun.

Awesome, they just obviated all need for plot or character development.

And unlike certain other shows, it doesn't look like they are even going to pretend to have a plot when they really can't pull it off. Well, I guess they do keep having these childhood flashbacks, but that's not quite the same thing. I'm not worried about any villains showing up and needing to save the world or anything. Except saving the world from Mayu raping anything with a Y chromosome.

Honestly I think this will be one of those shows where the main purpose of the plot is to provide a cut-off point. At least until another season if any is made and starts airing. In any case I'll re-watch the second episode later, but Reika was definitely fun to see and having more sexy girls is never wrong. One nice thing about this fanservice show is the whole Succubus thing. It's almost like self justification. :)

Too bad that was the high point of the episode for me. :sd: I enjoyed the first episode more for the humor than the fan-service, but "Ninomiya-kun" never hid the fact that it was a fan-service oriented show.

I'll probably keep reading about it, but "Ninomiya-kun" isn't going to stay on my watch list.

All right finished re-watching the episode. I think I'm going to like Reika due to her body, hair, and her personality looks like it could be interesting if done right. Granted I'm also going to feel sorry for her. Mayu already has enough of an advantage as the lead girl, but with the Succubus aspect and the chest, she gains an even higher advantage. So my advice to Reika is screw the guy or rather don't screw him and let the audience enjoy your body instead.

While the series isn't amazing or anything yet, it's a bit better than I expected. Then again this is probably a result of the fanservice aspect feeling enjoyable so far rather than annoying. Although I hope for less guys being horny and more Mayu and more importantly Reika being sexy.

For me, the fanservice is a little bit of it, but its mainly the sheer ridiculousness of everything that makes this worth watching. I mean, what the hell was up with the paint roller thing? And then there is the whole thing with all the females trying to molest Ninomiya, and Mayu's situation, the sister, poor Reika...

The characters are fun to watch, though I don't particularly like any of them (they are amusing to watch, which isn't quite the same thing), but its ultimately something thats amusing to watch but nothing particularly worthwhile.

I can say I have a liking for Reika and in some regards Mayu. However I can't exactly call it a strong liking. At least not yet anyway. So I have to admit the show is right now in the amusing stage. Where my main focus is on the silliness and the fanservice.

Hence why the key is in the long term. Early on the fanservice will let's just say seduce me into watching episodes of the show. However as time passes I may find that alone is no longer a good enough reason to continue the relationship. Yes I'll admit it, I worded it that way out of boredom.

I'm figuring or maybe I should say hoping by the time I've seen episode 03 or 04, I'll have a good idea on what path I should take with the show. Stay along for the ride, drop it, or hold off until a marathon is possible. With the third option also involving reading up on the direction the show takes.

This show is definitely my guilty pleasure anime of the season/year, looking forward to more.

Anyway relentlessflame said on another forum (I'm assuming you're the same person) that this show was confirmed for 12 episodes with a 6 DVD release.

Also of note that AIC Spirits has a history of doing shows with two seasons seperated by a 1-cour break. So it could be that we'll get 12 episodes now, and another 12 in the Spring. We'll see...

err...like what?

Well one example of what he means that comes to mind is Sasami: Magical Girl Club. There was a one season break between the first and second half of the series. 2006-04-13 to 2006-07-13 for season 1 and 2006-10-05 to 2007-01-11 for season 2. So yeah about a three month gap.

I should not that given the way season 1 ends, it feels less like they decided to make a second "13" episode series and more like they decided to cut a "26" episode series in half. Thus it's nothing like say Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha As. It would be more like if there has been a gap between the first 12 episodes and the last 12 episodes of Kanon.

As for other examples none come to mind. The main reason "Sasami" came to mind is because I'm familiar with it and while I don't pay much attention to people behind series even I know AIC is involved with that series.

Yup, you've got it. You can find the other examples on their site (http://www.spirits.anime-int.com/works/index.html). All three of their most recent productions (Girls Bravo, Sasami, and Tokyo Majin) were two-cour shows split into two 1-cour chunks. It's just like you said -- it's not really a "second season" so much as a pause in the middle of the show (presumably for production reasons).

All those objects flying from the sky at Shungo in episode 1 was pretty funny. So was Reika complaining that she lost one of the competitions: "I didn't lose to Mayu, I lost to her breasts!"

At times this feels like the spiritual successor to Girls Bravo, specifically the character of Mayu, who looks kind of like Miharu, has the same kind of androphobia that Koyomi had, and manages to get in situations that bare quite a bit of her (the only difference being, of course, that she's against it, while Miharu isn't at all embarrassed by her own nudity). The succubus angle is a nice twist, though.

I like Irori. I liked her reaction to Ninomiya pointing out how pointless her actions. The way she said it was just great.

Episode 3:

- Drillification in action! I love the way Reika gets her hair ready. Drill hair is indeed one of the best types there is.
- Flashback! Shungo was a player, getting kissed and then kissing a girl.. a girl with a lone dril-like curl in her hair at her back. So like, Shungo was with both girls as a kid, I guess?
- Where the hell do the crazy older sibling pair think these things up? Part of their "training" for Mayu and Shungo is putting them in bathing suits and making them hug tightly and pop baloons held between them. Wut?
- Reika does not approve. And when you disapprove with that voice actress, it's convincing. Loooooove her voice. Nor does she approve of Mayu and Shungo being told to bathe together. Wackiness ensues.
- At school, the usual happens: the girls corner Shungo, the boys corner Mayu. Except this time Mayu is able to get up the courage to defend Shungo, and Ayakawa Hinako (the girl that leads the RAEP SHUNGO brigade) seems a little impressed. Reika spys on the situations and sees that even though Mayu is really uncooperative and strong against her, she's hopeless against guys other than Shungo.
- New girl! Okushiro Irori. She's cute, but Shungo has to go with her for some planning things, leaving Hinako to approach Mayu and take her somewhere...
- Huh, I wonder what Hinako has in mind. She brings Mayu with her to the shopping district but then... they're just walking around. She doesn't seem to have any bad intentions, and seems like a generally decent person (Shungo rape aside).
- Heh heh. Mayu thinks Hinako is gonna beat her up behind the gym, caus thats what happens to transfer students in Japan, in her mind. :sd: But no, Hinako just wanted to get to know her better. "Ok, first, as girls I'll try to socialize with her naked." I LIKE HOW THIS GIRL THINKS.
- Oh man, I said Reika was my favorite but Hinako is totally giving her a run for her money. She pulls Mayu into a lingerie shop and they try on bras. Mayu seems a little ashamed of her delicious breasts, and Hinako (who is... impressive... herself) tells them they're attractive and starts bouncing them up and down. Mayu asks her to stop, and Hinako apologizes and says it was an impulse. I REALLY REALLY LIKE HOW THIS GIRL THINKS.
- Oh. my. god. What the hell o_O They come out of the changing room, and bam, BIG BUFF BUNNYSUIT BOY BRIGADE! (well, men, but that fucks up my alliteration) Complete with engrish and tacky lighting.
- ...It was Reika's brilliant plan. Why she knows these men, I don't want to know...
- And it doesn't end there. Male maids >_> God this is weird.
- Yay, Mayu likes manga, and it's one that Hinako used to read as well. Mayu tries to deny it but Hinako reveals what a fangirl Mayu is. They become fast friends after that, and it's really cute. Hinako <3!!
- At school the next day, Hinako gives Mayu the present she promised. It's some collector's editions of the manga she likes (the parody on Ace wo Nerae) and... and a yaoi doujinshi from the series! XD!
- But it just so happens that today is personal belonging inspection day... Mayu flees!

And holy shit, I love the ED! That is seriously one of the best EDs of the season. Sexy cheerleaders, fun dancing, cleavage, yay! Awesome, awesome ED.

Also, the preview reveals that Mayu is totally a yaoi fangirl XD This was one of the most enjoyable episodes of the season so far.

Hinako was definitely rather interesting in this episode in part because it was nice to see her in a role other than trying to molest the lead male. If they can keep this up she'll be a nice character rather than just a gag.

The ending is definitely rather nice. I approve of the cheerleader outfits a lot. Plus it kind of clues us into the who the females to pay attention to are. Finally it serves to heal the scarring those moments in this episode caused.

Episode 4:

- Not quite what I had in mind with my recommends thread on female doujin artists, but it's a start. :sd: Mayu looooves her yaoi doujins from Hinako, and tries to make her own! XD Doesnt turn out too well >_> That's awesome, but the downside is that all chances of Mayu/Hinako or Mayu/Reika yuri have gone out the window... Mayu clearly likes men. (Well ok, there was no chance to begin with, but I can dream)
- ...Mayu's breasts are like characters of their own. Boin boin~ Sexy twister... Would be sexier if Reika replaced Shungo.
- O_O Good Job, Ryouko!! Oh there is no way I'll ever get enough of her doing her thing with Reika. No way in hell. She didn't just tease her... she was all over her naughty places =D If we can't get Mayu x Hinako, I'll happily take Reika x Ryouko. Just a little more, and Reika will start liking it... anime logic!
- Ahaha, when Reika gets angry, all of Japan suffers! She's going nuts over her feelings for Shungo, and so starts tapping on her laptop... each time, buying and selling huge numbers of stocks. The TV behind her cuts to a reporter talking about a stock market panic, economic collapse, recession! XD
- Another dream for Shungo (complete with distorted voice that makes them all sound like they're sucking helium) presumably about Reika. Reika was remembering similar things as well. How interesting it would be if the main relationship turned out to be Shungo and Reika? Highly doubt it though. Besides, Reika belongs to Ryouko.
- Shungo gets pulled away by Ryouko and Mikihiko for some "training" and Reika is left behind to clean the house. So she's alone with Mayu. Mayu offers to help clean, but before Reika can say anything, Mayu snaps into her alternate personality that comes out when she sees Reika, and insists strongly that she can help.
- Also, what the hell is Reika doing? Brushing a carpet? Do they not have vacuum cleaners in Japan?
- Reika tells Mayu to piss off, more or less. But Mayu doesn't seem to dislike Reika or anything, she genuinely wanted to help. But then she proceeds to make a mess elsewhere while Reika cleans. Reika doesn't yell, she just silently cleans up the mess, but Mayu realizes she messed up, and so resolves to help... :sd:
- [Meanwhile, Shungo fights a giant chainsaw wielding maniac]
- Mayu in a maid outfit =D She insists on helping and starts with the kitchen, to Reika's chagrin.
- [More horror movie monster rejects for Shungo to fight]
- Mayu destroys the kitchen, Reika can barely stop herself from crushing Mayu's skull between her hands. While cleaning the mess, Mayu finds a switch that activates a hidden passageway...
- [Shungo takes out another]
- ...and they follow it (well after falling in) until they come to some laser tripwire sensors. Reika makes her way through it (all sexy like) and sees that by pressing against the wall they can get through. Or well... Reika can. Mayu's boobs have doomed them...
- They evade the usual traps and wind up in a storeroom. Reika finds a picture of young Shungo, and has a flashback to when she knew him. Seems the long haired girl in Shungo's dreams must have been Mayu rather than Reika, because Reika has shorter hair in her Shungo flashbacks.
- Mayu is burning up with maid spirit!! They escape the storeroom and somehow end up in the bath. It's already evening and Reika frets that she has to prepare dinner, but Mayu grabs her hand and insists on doing it herself.
- But then Ryouko comes in and decides to "punish" them for not cleaning the house. Unfortunately, the punishment isn't the kind I was hoping for =P

I like this series more with each episode I see.

I love seeing (and hearing; her voice is perfect for this role) Reika flustered and upset and fortunately, this show offers no shortage of opportunities for her to be molested and cause economic crises.

In the few scenes he's in, Hosaka continues to amuse me as well.

I guess I'll be the one to say that what I actually liked best about the episode (though Reika getting flustered is always cute) was how they're filling out the backstory through the flashbacks. We're starting to get a pretty good sense of what happened to the three of them as children, which leads to their current situation. The silliness and fanservice is fun, but the fact that there's something going on behind the scenes is what makes it all come together for me. The way they're doing it, you could almost decide for yourself what's the "main plot" and what's the "secondary plot", but there's enough of both to keep things going strongly. This is a fun show to watch.

Well I don't think it'll ever turn into drama or anything, but I'm sure it'll play some part in the on-going development of the little love triangle they've setup (since it has to do with Mayu's fear of men, Shungo's immunity, Reika's feelings, and so on). This wouldn't be the sort of show to all of a sudden "turn serious", so I'm sure it'll remain "light and fluffy". I guess I'm just saying that, for me, I like that it's more than just totally random happenings, and that there's something connecting things together. That's just my preference, though.

I'd hope it wouldn't... but look at Mahoromatic. It CAN happen.

Well the "drama" aspect of that series wasn't too bad in the first season. It's more of a problem in the second season, but that's mainly due to the thrown together ending. I'll leave it at that for now to avoid too much thread drift.

Past experience has shown me that giving a fluff series a sprinkle of well let's just call it plot can go either way. It just depends on how they add and in what they implement it. Still if we start worrying about it too much it will become harder to enjoy the series.

I don't mind the flashbacks here and there or even something resembling a plot, though I don't really care about it. I think it will really only be a problem if the show starts trying to take itself seriously because, well, the premise just doesn't allow for that.

Other than that, I don't know if I have much to say about this series, from the first four episodes. :sd: A lot of the characters don't seem that interesting, and they just throw them in all sorts of wild, fanservicey situations. I am still intrigued at least a little bit about some of them (Reika maybe, possibly some of the other girls). Morbid curiosity may draw me further.

All right then as expected this episode had fanservice. I want to rub lotion on Reika myself! Yeah I actually did say that. In any case this beach episode contained a side order of plot. Mainly in confirming what some may have long suspected about Reika. Yeah that's right she's one too! Which in a sense provides both answers and questions. It also allows one to think about certain things. *Runs*

Granted there is a bit more involved, but that's mainly the part I want to focus on at least for now. Probably because of my Reika bias. In any case it will be interesting to see what these seeds of plots ultimately grow into. Either way I'll continue to enjoy the the fanservice provided by Reika and Mayu.

- Ryouko and Mikihiko ditch and return home, meaning Shungo, Mayu, Reika and Hosaka are there alone for the night. They sit down to dinner and Shungo asks where Reika is. He says he's going to go find her, but Hosaka asks him why. "I'm worried about her." Hosaka just shakes his head. Does Shungo really not understand how Reika feels? Shungo can't answer that, and so he just runs away to find her. Mayu follows. Hosaka is awesome.
- Ah, animu. Where banging your toe on a rock brings you hurtling towards the ground, a cripple unable to stand without toppling over! Reika wanders along the beach by herself, then sits down and has an argument with, er, herself. New woman's forces creep forward to take Shungo. Shungo finds Reika and asks her why she's out here by herself.
- Then Reika's evil side takes over and gets with seducing Shungo o_O I like evil Reika... But she reverts to normal Reika, albeit unconscious, and Shungo is under the impression she's a succubus too, and so he needs to give her his life force (i.e. make out) Unfortunately Mayu sees this whole thing go down, though from her perspective Shungo was a willing participant. But all this is broken up by the armed soldiers who trap Mayu and surround Shungo and Reika...

So Reika has completely won me over, and I think a major deciding factor in how much I like this show is going to be how respectfully they treat her. By that I mean how they address her feelings and what sort of conclusion they give her. In the meantime, they can continue doing their best to get her flustered and as unclothed as possible =D

Yeah I completely agree, even though Reika has like an 0.01% chance of "winning" by herself I'm cheering for her. The best hope for Reika fans is that Shungo hooks up with both of them.

Well if that's the case then let's hope all three end up believing in the power of the threesome. It's just a matter of the two girls being in better control of themselves and if need be Shungo making sure he has plenty of stamina.

Either way it will definitely be nice if Reika gets proper treatment. Nothing is sadder than a secondary girl who's only purpose is to give the lead girl someone to defeat.

Episode 6:

- Mayu Crisis! Shungo's cooking is too good, she keeps eating more and more, and now she's gained weight! I bet I know where it all went though... She plans to diet, but when she doesn't eat he worries it's because she thinks it's bad. In order to reassure him that's not true, she has to eat.
- ...OH YEAH. They were rounded up by mysterious military forces last episode >______> I had a feeling I was forgetting... something. ::coughs:: I didn't remember that the pre-OP stuff is usually just unrelated omake shorts :sd:
- And so they're tied up and locked away together in a room.
- They insist on hiding this military woman's face, as if we haven't seen her in the ED five or so times already =P
- Hosaka is awesome. He silently dispatches the guards guarding where Shungo et al are, and undoes their ropes.
- They start to make their way out and find that all the security is gone. Mayu insists they find the transmitter Ryouko left behind should they need to contact her. She's worried that the real target is either Ryouko or Mikihiko. Reika and Shungo just sort of laugh it off and say that it's the one who goes after them who they should feel sorry for =P But I get the feeling Mayu wants to do something to help, to prove she's important, and so she walks through a nearby door... and gets shot!
- ...by a toy gun. It's a warning for what *could* have happened...
- Hosaka then takes the lead and walks out another door, and promptly gets shot. Except this time, he seems to be bleeding profusely from the head...
- Soldiers storm in. Reika is pissed. She's about to kick all their asses... when Shungo grabs them both and runs the hell away.
- Reika wants to go back and get revenge, but Shungo knocks her unconscious and puts her in Mayu's care, and then goes and kicks everyone's ass. Damnit, I wanted to see Reika DESTROY!
- But then Shungo gets knocked out by someone ::coughryoukocough:: in a strange mask. He wakes up and is in silver hair chick's custody, but the masked woman wasn't her. She slaps him, leaves, and lets her men beat the crap out of him.
- Reika awakens and sets a plan with Mayu for rescuing Shungo. Apparently this involves simply telling Maya to walk through the forest. And... it's hilarious. We hear her yell, and see her pull herself out of a hole. She takes two steps and a cage falls on her. She simply slips between the bars, only to fall into another hole. :sd: A nice soldier helps her out and says he has a daughter her age, but he accidentally hits a tripwire and gets him crushed by a swinging lot. Thus she starts walking through the forest, accidentally setting upp dozens of traps that wreak havoc on the soldiers.
- Reika then slips in and finds Shungo. Unfortunately masked woman knocks Reika unconscious (poor girl, twice in one day) and then starts fighting Shungo. He finally manages to break her mask and, yeah, Ryouko. And of course the whole thing was a setup. A "prank". :sd:
- So the woman is Shinobu, one of Reika's maids. And so she's joining the household as well... And she wants to kill Shungo =P

Next week, Reika touches her boobs! And I guess other things will happen too.

The outcome of that entire episode... *sigh* Anyone remember that show "Punked"? Yeah... just like that show, I wasn't laughing. For a "prank", that was f*cking ridiculous. Ryouko must apologize publicly for this ridiculously boring and uncharacteristic setup but molesting Reika no less than 4 times per epiosde from now on.

Granted, Mayu the White Devil was one of the best laughs of the series.

I dunno, I wasn't even remotely surprised when it happened. :sd: They kept dropping hints too, like when Hosaka "died" and Shinobu said "ojou-sama..." long before things were resolved. I guess I just take it for granted that Shungo, Reika and Mayu's relatives and friends have bizarre concepts of how to show they care and nothing is out of bounds.

That doesn't mean it was an especially interesting setup, but it wasn't unexpected either. I'm just sad Reika didn't get to kick ass. And yes, I was totally waiting for Mayu to squeak out something about hellish tools as well XD

Housaka proves how awesome he is and that he isn't just an assitant that gets beaten up all the time (... and happens to know how to pilot a helicopter).

Reika promises diving judgement on a group of highly trained soldiers (I guess she was going to yell them to death? Perhaps initiate a hostile takeover of whoever handled their finances and delete their 401ks?)... and the whole thing was caught on film.

And Mayu is a walking disaster. Between her and Reika, they could destroy entire countries.

Great episode.

There were some fun moments in the episode with the destructive Mayu and Reika remains as awesome as ever just by existing. What? Still you have to feel sorry for Ninomiya given that his sister is Ryouko. Sometimes I wonder if she was doing this type of stuff to him ever since he was born. It wouldn't surprise me.

I'm not sure how I feel about Shinobu yet. It's a bit early to judge her. However the "murderous" type character can be really annoying unless they get fleshed out properly. Hopefully she'll do more than just try to randomly kill Ninomiya.

In any case there are times I think Ryouko has some elaborate plan for the greater good of everyone and then there are times I think she just wants them to suffer. Episode 06 is the type of episode that slightly leans me towards thinking the latter. I guess I have mixed feelings on her as well.

Episode 7:

- Ahaha. The omake at the beginning this time is Reika fretting over her small [...what? compared to Mayu but that doesn't mean anything!] breasts. Hosaka says people prefer them bigger, so Reika comes up with a plan. Make hers bigger? No, change what the world prefers! She launches a small breast revolution that sweeps the world. Mayu is run out of town, and Reika becomes the ruler of all. Oh Reika, think nothing of it, yours are wonderful.
- I'd say this is bizarre, but no, this is Ryouko. She has Shungo and Mayu in a meat locker or something, and as they freeze he's supposed to massage warmth back into her. Reika bursts in and demands to know what's going on.
- And yet more trials. Shungo is tied up at school and Hinako puts a bib on him as all the girls play "baby" and start feeding him food >_> He tries to ask Mayu for help, but she's totally part of the gang now.
- In the library he reflects on Mayu and Reika. On the one hand, he really hit it off with Mayu when he asked her to see the stars. But on the other hand, the girl in at least some of his childhood memories was Reika. But on the third hand [...] she showed signs of being a succubus too.
- Irori! As Mayu works up the nerve to talk to Shungo, Irori jumps in (and all over him), messing up her chance.
- She comes to him after school as well, again blocking Mayu's chance. She's like, rubbing herself on him like a cat >_>
- Hinako comes up to Mayu, and Mayu gets the rundown on Irori from her. But basically all that's known is that Irori is definitely not the kind of person she seems like most of the time.
- Hinako offers to help Mayu out but Mayu says she needs to do it on her own. Hinako says goodbye and heads home, but Mayu suddenly starts to lose consciousness and comes to in the arms of an unnamed guy (aka, Irori's "brother or cousin or something" Hinako made a reference to). So, Irori wants Shungo and this guy wants Mayu? Is this just how their tastes go or do they have some specific reason for keeping them apart?
- First Shungo tries to walk home with Mayu but new guy gets to her first, and Shungo is surprised she can talk to him so easily. Then Shungo is kidnapped by the guys in class, who tell him it's traditional for the guys to sneak into the girls' room on the class trip, and so if he wants Mayu to be safe, he better be the one to sneak into her room (or something). Then as he's staggering out, the new guys says "Ninomiya Shungo, I'll be taking Tsukimura Mayu!" Shungo has had enough, and just passes out.
- Holy shit awesome eyecatches this time.
- Mayu takes Shungo hom and Ryouko diagnoses him with a cold. She's bored, so she suggests infiltrating a foreign country to kill some time. Mikihiko suggests they sneak into a "neighboring country" to check out their "nuclear facilities". ...::coughs:: :sd:
- Reika has to go as well, to meet with some sheikh as representative of the Houjou Corporation. So Mayu is all alone with Shungo...
- She starts to freak out about getting his fever down while he has a bad dream about one of the girls in his past "dying". I can't remember if this one was Reika or Mayu. I guess Mayu. But once he wakes up from that, he's okay. Except Mayu doesn't think so, and phones Hinako for help. She suggests feeding something that'll energize him.
- So she does, but it only energizes "a certain part of the body" <_< >_> Mayu is convinced things got no better, so she calls Ryouko, who suggests some medicine that "makes one part of the body get unbelievably rigorous and get well fast". And she's about to deliver it in a sexy nurse outfit.
- She shoves the enormous syringe into his ass. Ow.
- This just makes things worse, so she calls Reika. For some reason, the sheikh she's with speaks English and asks in a weird accent what "maekagami" is (slouching over or something). Reika breaks off negotiations and heads home.
- Mayu starts washing Shungo, so her rubbing him + her boobs pressing against him + her succubus power + the explosive sexual cocktail he's been given means he's at the end of his restraint.
- He finally grabs her and holds her close. She reminds him she's a succubus, and might lose control of her powers. Then she asks him about Reika and... realizes he's asleep. When he wakes up (shirtless, with Mayu asleep next to him in the super cleavage nurse outfit), Hinako, the two guys, Mikihiko, Ryouko, Reika, Shinobu and Hosaka are all around the bed, completely misunderstanding the situation as per usual.

Episode 8:

- Continuing the small breasts omake, Mayu decides she wants to be just like Reika and binds her boobs. Unfortunately, they refuse to be oppressed, and burst forth for great justice. Aww, poor Mayu :sd:
- Ryouko lounges around outside, and decide she wants ramen. Right now. Shungo realizes it's a challenge: he must make ramen that will satisfy her. Mayu suggests some quick fixes but he knows it must be special ramen.
- He gathers ingredients while Mayu does some internet research on ramen. He comes by and takes a look, putting his hand on hers to use the mouse and bumping into her boobs in the process, but I guess when he's thinking about cooking, he's not self conscious about that. She certainly is though.
- They prep it but he feels like it's not good enough. Ryouko (busily cleaning all her handguns) tells him to hurry up and adds more pressure. Mayu goes back to the same website and finds a hidden page that has instructions for The Ultimate Ramen! >_> He goes to get ingredients while Mayu watches the pot.
- This results in cleavagey scenes of Mayu stirring the soup and getting all hot from the steam =P But she must persevere! She calls up someone who she thinks can help...
- Shungo arrives somewhere in the countryside (...just how long is this ramen going to take?) to get the ultimate grain for the noodles. Mikihiko is there and beings him to the silo, and tells him to pick the best grains one by one >_>
- Hinako! I <3 her. She comes by to telp Mayu stir the ridiculously hot soup, but says it's too hot and starts to take her shirt off. Mayu stops her (GODDAMNIT MAYU!) and says it's unladylike, so Hinako instead goes for... mizugi apron!
- And she tells Mayu she'll be changing into it too. Mayu says she'll just go get something cooler on instead, but Hinako says "No, because that wouldn't be as much fun for me." Hinako for the everlasting epic win!
- Shungo's next trial: defeat a giant pig to get the ultimate pork.
- Irori comes to the Ninomiya house to drop some documents off (and tease Shungo).
- Holy shit Hinako ups the win even higher. Irori walks in on Hinako straddling a completely naked Mayu, and when she tries to excuse herself and leave, Hinako has other plans. "You think I'll let you leave without paying after you've seen that?" Yesssssss.
- Shungo's next trial: catch a massive fish and get the ultimate tuna.
- Shinobu arrives at the Ninomiya house to oversee the shipping of something or other for Reika (the noodles I guess).
- Apparently Hinako is like a hentai protagonist. If you molest the girls long enough, they start to like it :sd: Shinobu walks in on Mayu, Irori and Hinako all happily stirring away. They see her, and she becomes their next victim. It's sort of like being bit by a zombie and becoming one of them, except a billion times hotter.
- Shungo makes his way home...
- ...As the girls are losing their minds. Mayu rubs the stirring spoon against her face, moaning about how hard and thick it is, as Irori tells her not to give in to naughty thoughts, even though she's totally gone as well. Hinako puts her arm around Shinobu, and the entire scene is generally something what I imagine paradise would be.
- Then Shungo arrives, and though he's taken aback, he goes to put the finishing touches on the ramen, as the girls cheer for him all horny-like.
- But, now Reika is coming home... Oh she will so not approve.
- Hah, they finish the ramen and go to bring it to Ryouko and... and Reika is there, and Ryouko is testing Reika's new instant cup ramen. Ryouko is impressed, and tells Shungo she's full now. Oh, she also changed into a mizugi apron at some point too.

Poor Reika :sd: She's so proud of her new creation, that she worked so hard to market and create, but for reasons she can't understand, everyone is pissed off. She finds herself in a mizugi apron as well at the end, slurping her instant noodles and bummed out that they're so good but nobody else wanted to try them.

Anyway, I haven't seen episode 8 yet but if Reika isn't in the episode or only makes a brief appearance, then it's likely going to be a more fail episode than usual. I only decided to watch the show because her character design caught my eye but as soon as I got a glimpse of her personality and heard that awesome voice on top of that, I decided to stick with this show no matter what. From what I've seen up to episode 7, the show is pretty much all fan-service like others seem to have already suggested so I don't why the creators couldn't have made it into a hentai instead.

Regarding the other characters, Mayu irritates me with her dumbness, though on rare occasions she does amuse me but everyone else simply bore me. If the main male lead was a bit less dull and one-dimensional, maybe I would be rooting for Reika to hook up with him in the end. As of now, I don't really care just as long as she ends up at least somewhat happy. Based on some of the comments from this thread, I'm wondering if I'm weird for feeling disgust and revulsion rather than amusement whenever Reika gets molested? :sd:

Episode 9:

- Pre-op Omake: Shinobu works her ass off to get the house sparkling before Reika gets home. Reika begins to praise her when she sees Mayu with Shungo. This makes her stop talking to Shinobu and chase after them, which Shinobu takes out on Shungo... :sd:
- Class trip to Kyoto, and Shungo has to act as the chaperon, since his teacher abdicates responsibility and goes to sleep.
- Irori makes a move, and Mayu watches helplessly while Tasuku makes his own move on her. Irori tosses a smug glance back Mayu's way as she carts Shungo off...
- And Reika observes from nearby, coincidentally also in the area for a business trip. Coincidentally.
- After failing to blurt out their concerns to each other, Shungo is kidnapped by the guys in class and Mayu has to continue on to the onsen. Where Hinako totally molests her breasts. OH GOD I LOVE YOU HINAKO.
- Shungo was abducted by the guys so they could get his help peeping, which they need to scale a vertical cliff to do. They fall, but he continues on, since he went up to convince them to stop, but now he's too high up to descend.
- Reika relaxes up top, standing up and stretching all sexy-like. Mmm. Naked Reika. Just as Shungo climbs over the edge and pops out of the bushes right in front of her. He sees... absolutely everything. They're both frozen for quite some time, until she screams and he falls. Shungo, you lucky son of a bitch (ok, I could do without the plummeting hundreds of feet though). But god damn, they really CAN'T decide on the size of Reika's boobs. Compare them in this scene to her cheerleader outfit in the ED. They're different by like a factor of ten, and they've been every size in between up to this point as well. She ranges from nearly flat to significantly endowed. WHICH IS IT? ...Maybe she can adjust based on her mood. Customizable breasts!
- Mayu hears the scream. Hinako's hands are STILL on her boobs. Never, ever change, Hinako.
- Flashback. Tasuku seems to know Shungo from back when Shungo saved Reika, or whichever flashback that was just now. There's been a bunch of them. And it seems like he's held a grudge all this time, and getting Mayu from Shungo is his revenge.
- So the boys start the annual raid on the girls' rooms. Unfortunately for them, Reika leaked all their plans to the teachers, and the boys can't get through the security. Except for Tasuku, who calls Shungo and says he's going after Mayu. And so all the boys set out, with Yoshi and Ino sacrificing themselves to sneak Shungo closer. As he nears the room, Tasuku pops up and says he's going to give Shungo a tast of heaven.
- And then four girls who look like they're possessed start walking towards him. Tasuku asks Shungo "Surely you can do at least this much too?" but Shungo has no idea what he's talking about. Sounds to me like Tasuku is an incubus... and so is Shungo? Tasuku seems to think so anyway, and it would help explain why Shungo is able to resist Mayu's succubus powers.

Either way, Tasuku kills the lights, and in the confusion, Irori grabs him. And kisses him.

And... she's clearly a succubus too. He feels his strength sapping away. And as he thrashes about and hits the lights, it just so happens that Mayu, Reika, and Tasuku are all there. But there's no screaming or beating Shungo up or comedic misunderstandings, because he collapses right there and is only barely responsive when Reika rushes to his side.

Iiiinteresting.

As a side note, it's a fucking travesty that there's next to no good fanart for this show. DAMNIT.

I've always wondered at how every romance comedy (and most romance dramas) slows the romance part to a dead crawl all the way through. Is it their only plot template? At least there's some reason given in this one--most shows just make both characters too shy to move beyond holding hands for 26 episodes.

I guess they have to slow it down somehow, or it ends up like Zero no Tsukaima s2, where they essentially bring the relationship as far as they're capable of going in that type of show (the boat scene), at which point there's nothing they can do but throw in another gag and pull it back a dozen episodes, which is just irritating.

At least this show's excuse is better than the usual "too shy to meet eyes" one--this way they get to play Twister and all the other zany hijinks forced upon them.

Episode 10:

- Pre-OP omake: Hinako waits in the park for Mayu, and all the girls she sees have big boobs. She wishes hers were a little bigger, and then Mayu shows up with the biggest of all. Mayu then proceeds to eat the whole time they're together, and Hinako snaps and asks if she got so big by eating a lot. Hinako says she tried that as well but it didn't work. Mayu consoles her :sd:
- Picking right up with succubus Irori leaving Shungo in a heap.
- We finally get to see one of the flashbacks clearly. And it confirms that not only did they involve both Reika and Mayu, but Reika and Mayu knew each other, and were friends, with Shungo and each other. At some point, young Mayu kisses him, and he collapses. Reika runs over and yells for him to wake up. Mayu remembers all this, and realizes that in the past she did this same thing to Shungo.
- Irori keeps the pressure on the next day, and tries to take Shungo for herself during free time. Tasuku seems annoyed, but goes off to work on Mayu some more. Reika watches from the bushes, pissed as always.
- But Mayu achieves +5 backbone and turns down Tasuku, snags Shungo from Irori, and grabs the hiding Reika, telling her that she wants the three of them to hang out together. Thumbs up to Mayu.
- Shungo is confused and Reika acts annoyed, but Mayu's cheerfulness is infectious and they eventually start smiling and going along with her whims.
- ...I swear, some of the best eyecatches ever. Second part.
- As they continue to hang out, Shungo is reminded of those hazy memories when Mayu calls him "Shungo-kun" and Reika cleans Mayu's face off. It reminds him of a similar scene from the past, and this time he sees it clearly too, and begins to think Mayu and Reika are the girls from back then.
- Reika and Mayu (and Shungo >_>) get all prettied up in traditional dancing girl outfits, with powdered faces and kimono and the works. And Reika's boobs fluctuate again.
- Then we get miko Reika... Miko Miko Reimuka! <3 <3! Except, ninjas suddenly attack >_>
- They escape with the help of Hosaka and Shinobu but hit a dead end. Tasuku reveals himself as the master of the ninjas, and says he's getting revenge for 10 years ago but of course Shungo has no idea wtf he's talking about.
- Shinobu, Shungo, Hosaka and Reika hold off the ninja attackers. Yes, Reika! She's a top ranked martial artist =D Then Mikihiko, Ryouko, Hinako, and the guys join in beating the ninjas up.
- Then everything is wrapped up ridiculously conveniently as Tasuku and Shungo are stopped mid charge by Irori, who kisses Tasuku and says it's him she's always loved. And... I guess that ends that :sd:
- And then epic WTFs, as dark Reika returns while she's in the helicopter with Hosaka and Shinobu. Hosaka insincerely apologizes and throws Shinobu out of the helicopter.
- The next morning at Shungo's house, Mayu is gone when he wakes up. He checks the paper and sees an article that names Ryouko and Mikihiko as "international terrorsts", just as special ops crash through his windows and arrest him.

And on the table in his room is a letter from Mayu that merely says "Sorry. Goodbye. Mayu."

...Haha, wait, what the fuck just all happened? XD

I've never felt so cheated by a single episode.

For the first 18 minutes, we're treated to one of the most lackluster of all the episodes. At least the second part of the beach two-parter had Mayu the Stampede! This one had an incredibly lackluster plot with one of the most verbally groan-worthy resolutions I've ever seen. I wondered if I was a parody. And no, I'm not surprised that none of the students cared that it turned into an incest pairing. These are the same kids that sexually harass Mayu and Ninomiya-kun on a daily basis.

What's even more upsetting is that the flashbacks that seemed to be taking an interesting turn last episode have been revealed to be a thinned-out version of the Love Hina flashbacks. The moment I saw the three of them together, I was pissed. Do they really expect me to believe that all three of them don't have any memory of 10 years ago?! :susel:

And as if the staff knew I would be on the end of my rope with this show, they throw me a massive pile of bones to make sure I'm gnawing on them until the end of the series. Don't get me wrong. Those were some awesome WTFs (Evil Hosaka rocks my world!), but it totally felt like tacked-on "keep watching" bait.

Any news if it's supposed to follow the AIC Spirits tradition of a second season after 3 months?

Episode 11:

- Pre-OP omake: Mayu reads about aliens and is convinced they're real, and say "Nyoro Nyoro!" Ryouko travels to Area 51, sees an alien spaceship, watches President George Bosh sign a treaty with the aliens, and then gets back home before Mayu is done trying to convince Shungo... and brings a little friend back with her.
- Dark Reika asks Good Reika: Are you okay with Shungo forgetting the promise? With Mayu snatching him away? Good Reika tells her to be quiet, but Reika's younger self appears and puts Reika into a deep sleep. Also, nice light/dark split effect here.
- The Ninomiya residence is a wreck. Shungo is locked away in a cell somewhere, until Hosaka comes and takes him out. Hosaka cheerfully tells him about how Reika set everything up, including the "terrorist" news. Hosaka says not to worry, Mikihiko and Ryouko would never get captured (guess he's right there), but they just wanted to keep them away for a time. Shungo is, well, still not liking this of course.
- Hosaka takes Shungo to a place from his memories. Shungo runs through the streets using his memories as a guide, and finally comes to the apartment-building-like-thing where most of his memories with Reika and Mayu took place.
- He inspects the room, and meets Reika. Evil Reika. Sexy Reika. The story unfolds quickly.
- Ten years ago, for some unremembered reason, Reika seems to have run away from home. Shungo persuaded some bullies (including Tasuku) to leave her alone by giving them a necklace he got from his parents, and then took her to his home (the apartment) where he lived alone. Yes, he lived alone at age six, because Ryouko was busy traveling the world. ...Don't think about it, just accept it and keep watching.
- ::blinks:: So, later on he retrieved the necklace, telling the kids they could beat him up in return. Irori watches and sighs, when suddenly Mayu springs into action. She lands a flying dropkick on Tasuku, and admonishes Shungo for not fighting back. Haha, god she's so different from now.
- And so, after getting beat up by a girl, Tasuku decides to hold a stupid grudge against Shungo for a decade, culminating in that silly storyline nobody cared about that finished in ep 10. But it got us to the onsen ep so it serves a purpose.
- Mayu started to live with them as well, after Ryouko presumably met Mikihiko in her travels. But soon after, Reika was taken back by the Houjou family. This is when she kissed Shungo and made him promise not to forget about her.
- She worked herself almost to death trying to become successful, always worrying if maybe Shungo was still ahead of her. But then everything went wrong, "because of Mayu". We flash back again to when Mayu kissed Shungo and he collapsed. As Shungo remembers this, he collapses again (eh?).
- Meanwhile, Mayu wanders the city alone, looking for Shungo. And fuck yeah, she's back in her sexy white dress =D
- Sexy eyecatches. Part two.
- I guess Reika was able to visit Mayu and Shungo occasionally, because she's back in the apartment again and the chronology makes no sense otherwise. Anyway, Mayu wishes she were a princess in a castle. Reika shows her a flyer for a theme park her family is opening, which includes a large castle.
- Then suddenly, shirtless Shungo shackled to a bed. And incredibly hot Evil Reika is on top of him in really skimpy lingerie. Unfortunately 90% of the scene depicts the walls, or very distant shots, or Shungo's face, or the moon or, well, more or less everything they could possibly focus on other than Reika being ridiculously hot. Bastards!
- So, she touches his face and then moves downwards, out of the shot. Next thing you know, he's twitching like he's having the life sucked out of him... except she's totally nowhere near his mouth. ::coughs::
- Ok, so not quite what I'm implying, but she DID just undo his pants. An alarm sounds before she can get to work though, and she has to deal with intruders.
- By the way, I would just like to remind you all that this (http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t299/anon09876/Goshuushou-samaNinomiya-kun-11m3-2.png) is the same girl (http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t299/anon09876/Goshuushou-samaNinomiya-kun-11m3-3.png) who was nearly washboard flat in some scenes ever. She suddenly got her boobs back in this scene. Least. Consistent. Breasts. Ever.
- The intruders were Tasuku and Irori, and they rescue Shungo. But when he hears that succubi die when they don't consume life force for too long, and that Mayu is probably almost at that point, he rushes out without thinking and gets spotted by Reika and her forces.
- She makes him an offer. She'll find and save Mayu... if he promises to give himself to her forever and ever. DO IT, SHUNGO! Reika is wearing a sexy black dress...
- Shinobu attacks. The Reika she knows would never offer such a twisted deal to Shungo.

Shinobu keeps Hosaka busy, while Irori and Tasuku help Shungo escape, and then Ryoko and Mikihiko show up and start blowing everything up. Mikihiko is piloting a fighter jet. o_o Hinako and the others pick Shungo up in a car and he tells them to head to the theme park, which is where Mayu is probably going.

Heh, this was a pretty awesome episode. Reika is incredibly hot, the action was amusing, and things are driving hard towards a conclusion.

Edit: Er, well, I guess they kind of have to be, since the next ep is the last >_> Thought this was 13 for some reason.

Wow... we'll I'll be finishing this but only out of obligation. Everything in the last part of this episode is leading up to the cliched-to-death "Snow White" ending between Boobs and Generic Harem Lead.

I'm in awe from this episode, just how far this show has fallen. Whatever emotion they were trying to evoke from me with this episode (I guarantee you it wasn't laughter) missed the mark completely. For one thing, I hate anytime there has to be action in this series because all the like scenes are shoddy, unamusing, and just plain boring.

As for the flashback explanation, I know this is anime, but it's absolutely ludicrous to believe an heiress could live with two other six-year-olds BY THEMSELVES in a rundown apartment complex.

Ninomiya-kun started off great with Reika molesturbation, pervy, possibly bi yaoi fangirl Hinako, and the comedic possibilities of androphobia (which I can now safely say Mayu was faking the whole freakin' time).

It's my own fault for having hopes for this series. Someone give Reika a spinoff please... something along the lines of Hosaka no Gotoku, maybe?

Oh er, like, so this is over now...

Episode 12:

- Shungo arrives at Never Ever Land, the abandoned theme park. Hinako, the teacher and the guys say they want to go with Shungo, but he goes in alone.
- He finds her quickly. She's imagining what it would be like to see one of the attractions before bursting into tears wondering where everything went wrong. When she hears him she starts to run, but he stops her.
- The fact that he knew she was there tells her that he must have remembered everything.
- By the time Reika was taken back by her family, Mayu was in love with Shungo. She hid the fact that she was a succubus, and refrained from sucking his life force. She decided that it would be better to use her life force up and die than to take his and risk killing him.
- As she's sick in bed, Reika returns with tickets to NELand. Mayu tells Reika and Shungo to go alone, and expects to die while they're gone. But when they get back and see her unconscious, Reika calls an ambulance, and Shungo tries to wake her up with a kiss...
- Present time, Mayu is about to drain the last of her life force again. Shungo tries to help her but she pushes him away, asking him how Reika would feel if he lost his memories again (ah, so that's what caused it). Reika appears and uses this opportunity to tell the rest of the story, the point from which Shungo began to forget.
- As Shungo kissed Mayu, her succubus side was refilled and took over. She gets up, grabs him, and sucks more of his life force out, just as Reika comes back to see them making out. He collapses, Mayu regains her senses, screams, and collapses as well. Ryouko and Mikihiko arrive just then, and take Shungo and Mayu away. Reika of course feels utterly betrayed by Mayu.
- So the end result was Shungo losing his memory, Mayu locking her memories away, and Reika splitting into two conflicting personalities, with the dark side a manifestation of her awakened succubus powers.
- Oh btw, her boobs disappeared again.
- She tells him to choose one of the two right then and there. Save Mayu, and possibly die, or keep his promise to Reika? He tells her the Reika he knows would never present such a choice, and leans in to kiss Mayu. Reika snaps, and orders Hosaka to kill Shungo. He asks if she's sure, and she tells him to just get on with it.
- And Hosaka is scary... He throws Shungo *through* the wall and then proceeds to kick his ass.
- Meanwhile good Reika, locked away inside herself, meets her other side, created all those years ago. Reika apologizes, they reconcile, and good Reika takes control back.
- Just in time. Hosaka kicks Shungo under a chandelier that nearly falls on him, but for Reika saving his life at the last second. She kisses him and he realizes she's back. She tells Hosaka to stop, but he had warned her earlier that he would not let her rescind the order no matter what. He's not willing to give Reika up...
- They face off for one last attack. Shungo lands his punch, and Hosaka lands his... on Mayu, who stepped between them to save Shungo. Hosaka collapses, and Shungo and Reika rush to Mayu.
- ...And I have an idea in my head about how this can end in a completely awesome way...
- Mayu loses consciousness, and Shungo lets out a really badly timed, cheesy scream.

And wahaah, they did it! I was hoping against hope that in place of Shungo kissing Mayu, Reika would. AND SHE DID. Just, I was hoping it would be intentional, rather than her falling on her. Either way, Mayu wakes up and tells Reika that she's not a lesbian like Reika is. At this point Reika SHOULD, you'd think, be protesting that it was an accident, but instead she says "That's because that dirty woman was taking advantage of me!" and I'm pretty sure she's saying that Ryouko's molestation corrupted her sexuality... at least that's what I want to believe =D

Mayu's response might be even better: "Oh I'm not so sure about that, you were probably thinking 'This feels pretty good, oh hohohoho,' or something like that!" XD

Then I'm pretty sure Mikihiko and Ryouko are about to screw on the ferris wheel. Hosaka limps along, having gone full out on Shungo just to make sure Shungo would see things through to the end. Shinobu offers him help and forgives him. Hinako et al turn power back on in the park.

Ah, the ending. I can hear piano_cello_conducting's screams of rage already, just the kind of thing that'll drive him nuts.

I liked it though, in all its "nothing is actually resolved, life goes on, maybe we'll get a budget to do a second season" glory. Sexual training continues, everyone continues to live in the mansion, Ryouko molests Reika, Hinako molests Mayu, Irori molests Tasuku, Shungo gets an accidental smooch from Mayu and collapses, the usual. Mayu says she won't give up on Shungo and Reika indicates she's no less determined.

So it goes, and you bet your ass I'd take more of it if given the chance. But even working on the assumption that this is the end, I'm fine with that.

Brainless fluffy fun done right. Mayu and Reika are sexy to the end. And finally, finally, I find out what the fuck Goshuushou-sama means.

A total 360 from last week, Ninomiya-kun ends on a good note.

Highlights
- EVIL HOSAKA!!! Seriously, Hosaka is like the BEST character of this series hands down... okay, he's right behind Reika but still, I was positively giddy when he was kicking Ninomiya's ass all around the amusement park!
- The kiss. The complete opposite of what I expected and Mayu's reaction just sweetened it to the point of absolute win, and then Reika blaming it on Ryouko's devious punishments... well, let's just say this was my personal payoff for sticking with it ^^

Though I do have to say, Hosaka going down with one punch after owning Ninomiya for a solid block of time felt pretty lackluster. Almost makes you wonder if all of Ninomiya's opponents go down easy so they don't actually kill him. I refuse to believe he (Shungo) is an ultimate fighter type.

The other thing that really grinded my gears was Mayu saying she still has androphobia and then five seconds later she's kissing Ninomiya. Honey, give it up already. You said yourself you're not a lesbian (Hinako's gropage says differently though). That doesn't give you many other options :P

Heh, yeah, but it was inevitable. When two characters line up and charge at one another for a final attack (in almost any show), I think damage counters all reset and drop to 1HP, so that the entire fight to that point becomes meaningless and only the one punch matters.

The other thing that really grinded my gears was Mayu saying she still has androphobia and then five seconds later she's kissing Ninomiya.
Androphobia towards other guys, I think. She got over her androphobia as it related to Shungo by like episode 1 or 2. Everything after that, with Shungo, was just basic romantic comedy sexual tension, not connected to her "condition".

Is there going to be an S2 a la the majority of AIC Spirits anime?

Just finished this show. It was full of plot holes and inconsistencies but it was immensely entertaining. The characterization was top-notch. Just when you thought that a character would be despicable, many of the characters turned out to be likable (Too many examples: I thought Hinako was going to beat up Mayu on their first meeting and yet ended up being her good friend. Just when Mayu's indecisiveness was getting to me, she suddenly picked up a spine and convinced me that a threesome would work. Just to name some examples.)
The last episode is a supreme example of the rule that YURI REALLY CAN MAKE ANYTHING BETTER. :grin: That aside, they should have developed Shinobu's obviously sapphic attraction for Reika. By the way, did anyone notice where Ryoko's hands on Reika were in the last scene?

I sincerely hope this gets a 2nd season. Shows of this sort are certainly more enjoyable when the male lead isn't such a doofus.

I just finished this and I really enjoyed it. From the description I thought it was going to be awful, but after taking a chance on it I really enjoyed it. Reika was my favorite of the two girls, so I was really worried I'd be disappointed at the end, but I was happy for the non-ending. Even though a possible season two would be cool, if Mayu "won" I wouldn't be too happy. I was actually kind of nervous to finish the show because I was convinced Mayu was going to "win", but I was pleasantly surprised with it all. And I did notice where Ryoko put her hand on Reika that last scene :blush: .

I decided just for the heck of it to watch the second half of this series and now that I finished, I figure replying to the episode 12 sub thread is the most logical choice for me to give some thoughts on the series without worrying about spoilers. Perhaps I'll say stuff in the currently watching thread later when I feel like the time is right for another update of the category this would fall under. I any case, here goes nothing.

The show had a few issues like "random breast size" for Reika which forces me to wonder what her real size is. I suspect her breasts are on the small side, but not so small that there's nothing to grab. Perhaps official artwork would give a better idea, but then again that could also be inconsistent. Also a bit of the story could have been better told.

That being said the show was definitely worth watching thanks to various fun moments. Too tired to go through all of them, but I'll just say this much. It's taught me that ramen is good for your health and needs to be part of a balanced diet. That right there is a good example of what the series was capable. Plus the whole Ninja thing where suddenly everyone was beating up them was kind of fun to see in a strange way.

Plus in the context of the type of series it is, the way it ended wasn't too bad. Reika kissing Mayu was fun, but the whole reaction and everything said made it better. Plus the shows make it clear to me that the only logical answer is a three-some. Which is good for Reika since a pair would mean leaving her out by default. Besides I'm sure Mayu could be convinced of the power of yuri eventually.

Sadly the fact that a second season has yet to be announced even after all this time is depressing. Then again sometimes gaps between seasons are much longer. Plus I guess there's the problem of deciding what a season 2 would involve. They already took care of the whole memories business. Ah like it matters what flimsy plot excuse they come up with for the purpose of giving season 2 a stopping point. Just so long as the journey involves Reika and Mayu being attractive.

It's taught me that ramen is good for your health and needs to be part of a balanced diet. That right there is a good example of what the series was capable.

Sadly the fact that a second season has yet to be announced even after all this time is depressing. Then again sometimes gaps between seasons are much longer.
Heh, yeah, it's hardly a great show but I could go for a second season. I wonder if anyone will bite at Kadokawa's offer and release this in R1, since this was included in that list of shows being shopped around.

Ah I should have realized that since I had been browsing there earlier, but then again I was rush saving the images from there since I was kind of multitasking. Oh just for the record even in the DVD versions of the episodes (which are what I watched) her breasts were still random. Maybe it's some dramatic plot point. I can see it now when her breasts are small, they're recharging their energy!

Speaking of the DVD version, it seems they redid the "Evil Reika has her way with Shungo" scene. After watching the scene and reading comments about episode 11, there seemed to be a contradiction. So I found a broadcast version of the episode and skimmed the scene. Sure enough things are changed. I suspect it was one of those things they wanted to save for a DVD version. Then again I suppose by now some have already watched the DVD version even before I did.

Only time will tell, but it would be interesting to see which of those shows will be announced first if any of them. It would be nice if at least one of them did. As it would be a sign of progress.
