So, if there were an Anime Alcoholics Anonymous meeting being formed, who would you expect to be in attendance?

In other words, who do you think are the biggest alcoholics in Anime? :>

My favorite alcoholic in all of Anime is from one of the first series that I ever saw: Fujisawa in El Hazard the Magnificent World.

My first choice was Haruko Kamio from Air TV. Seems like she always had a bottle after she got home from work (and poor Yukito having to drink with her, talk about being an enabler...).

I thought of that one... and the breakdown that would most likely occur... and I decided not to touch it any longer...

Two that come to mind are Yukari from Azumanga Daioh and Nobue from Strawberry Marshmallow (with the latter being able to scare little children when she gets drunk).

Karura from Utawarerumono. I don't know of anyone else in anime that can down several hundred gallons of sake. And still appear perfectly fine.

ummm... i original read it as "Anime Anonymous" meeting being formed. i was thinking, "ok, it's time i admit i have a problem". but then i read everyone else's reply and realized what was really meant.... O.O

have to say i'm kinda disappointed... :( :P

You are not alone. I thought we were going to out various forum members. :sd:

Anyhoo, my contribution would be the mechanic/engineer from Nadesico. I cannot picture him without the large bottle of booze. He must have some bloodshot eyes to constantly wear sunglasses on a spaceship in deep space.

Lumiere was not an alcoholic. Her behavior was not consistent with that of an alcoholic.

Oh, I could see her going to a meeting after Watanuki pestered her into it, but I could also see her disrupting the meeting by offering the wish exchange to all the attendees.

Saori Shikijo from Mahoromatic comes to mind here.
I'd imagine her introduction would go a little like this....

Shikijo: "Hello everyone, my name is Saori and I have a problem."
Group: "Hello Saori."
Shikijo: "Well, there's this boy named Suguru Misato and, well...Wait, you guys are all alcoholics?"
Group: *stunned silence, followed by puzzled looks*
Shikijo: "Oh crap."
