I searched, and saw no existing topic about the show, but of course the show aired about a year ago, so maybe any topic that did exist is gone by now...

Anyway, with all the bad word of mouth the show gets, I'm starting to wonder how many episodes everyone saw. I just saw whatever I could see of Zaizen Jotaro, which is 6 out of 11 episodes, and I actually really have enjoyed it so far.

Now before people say something:

1. Yes, episode 1 is just a crazy episode that makes almost no real sense. Thankfully, that episode is not really indictative of the show, from what I've seen.
2. Yes, the animation is easily seen to be low-budget. Some stuff you just have to get around. And in all honesty, the animation studio, Trans Arts I believe, did well with whatever small budget they had.
3. Yes, I'll agree that Jotaro saying "Da Bomb" is kind of weird/corny/stupid, though he really only says it when he's happy that somethings going the right way. Also, it's just a phrase that gets stuck in your head, and then you start enjoying it...

If people only saw the first 3 episodes, I can understand people not really liking it, even though I found episodes 2 & 3 enjoyable and much more serious than episode 1. Thankfully, the main story starts at episode 2, and is pretty good.

Episodes 4-6, though, easily improve upon the show; especially episodes 5 & 6, which deal with a bit of character development and serious story advancement, with a twist or two put in. And Jotaro doesn't say "Da Bomb" even once during these two episodes.

Mainly, I'll say that when I'll be able to watch the rest of the series, hopefully, it will just improve even more on what there is, and will end this story fairly well. Also, I can kind of see why the manga is popular enough to stay serialized, and be at 17 volumes right now, the same amount as Souten no Ken/Fist of the Blue Sky.

In reality, this show is actually a good show; maybe not great or amazing granted, but a good show, and I would easily buy this show if licensed and released on R1 DVD.

OK, I must correct myself...

I checked Comic Bunch's website today, and the Zaizen Jotaro manga is over at 17 volumes. Also, the anime apparently just got it's DVD release, a box set, during this month, about a year after airing!

Anyway, I hope someone replies in this thread... Unless everyone here DOES hate this show so much...

Well, it did have the single worst first episode of all time. I doubt many people gave it a second chance.

True, and I can understand that. It was a BAD episode... Still, it was no Gun-do Musashi, so that was at least a good thing about.

I honestly thought that the rest of the show would be like episode 1, and would be interesting to watch because of the craziness. Thankfully, while episodes 2 & 3 had a little bit of the craziness, it got serious really quickly, and brought with it an interesting story. I wonder what volumes of the manga the anime covers...
