What are some of your favorite non-language sounds that anime characters say? By non-language sound, I mean these are not actual words of any language but are just nonsensical sounds that certain characters always say.

An example of one of my favorites would be Kanon's Ayu's "Uguuu".

Sakura Kinomoto's (Cardcaptor Sakura) "hoe" is probably my favorite (and "hanyaan" too :) ). I think Akari Mizunashi's (Aria) "hahi" and "hohe" are pretty cute.

I've gotta say, Sakura's questioning "Hoeh" is my favorite too. Heck, I've developed the habit of using it myself!

Nodame [Nodame Cantabile]

All of the strange sounds she makes are part of what makes her so much fun.

Uguu!

I have a CD of Tsukimiya Ayu (Horie Yui) saying "Uguu" 80+ different ways (with 80+ different meanings to it). It came with Kanon Visual Memories (http://www.akadotretail.com/product_info.php?products_id=20595&cPath=27_2).

"Gao" comes in second. Although, since it means "roar," does it really count as a non-language sound?

Another vote for Noda Megumi (i.e. Nodame) of Nodame Cantabile and the sounds that she makes, e.g. Gyabo!, Mukya!. :D

In addition to Sakura's "Hoeeee...!?!" (or whatever :P ) I like the sound that Mill makes in Maze. I don't even know how to spell it, but it is something like "Eque?"

You never truly realize how many times they make those noises until you watch them put together.

Kenshin's "oro", which is now embedded in my online and offline vocabulary

Close second is Sakura's "hoe," mostly because she is just so cute when she does it

From Nanaka 6/17 "hawawa" and "hiyiya".

It sounds just so darn cute.

I agree. But I had forgotten about that, so I guess that I need to watch Nanaka 6/17 again.

Since I believe in the power of "Uguu" clearly I like the sound Ayu of Kanon makes.

Nodame's "Gyabo" and "Mukya" are phrases I actually utter every now and then without realizing.

Has to be Quon Kisaragi's "rah rah?" :)

I was going to pick GAO! as it's the sound Gigantor makes. :) Giant Robo does it as well.

Sakura Kinomoto's (Cardcaptor Sakura) "hoe" is probably my favorite (and "hanyaan" too :) ).

This also for me, and add to it Misaki Suzuhara's (Angelic Layer) "Naa!" in its various inflections.

I'm rather fond of Rebecca Miyamoto's hau hau while cowering behind curtains.

Tough call between Nayuki's Unyuu, Sayuri's Ahahaha, and Hanyuu's Auauau. It's a three-way tie.

In one of the Slayers movies, there's a rather large creature made of orihalcon. Over and over it says "Mm? Mm? Gao!" - which I find both annoying and adorable at the same time :)
