If you're talking about ADV's New Fist of the North Star, I'd say it's good if you don't have much else from the FotNS lineup. I've had the original 3 discs for quite some time, and I've watched them all at least four times. It's got good action, lots of carnage, and some moderate character drama (there isn't as much emphasis on Kenshiro's fighting this time around). There's been some criticism of Takehito Koyasu doing Kenshiro's voice, but I don't mind it so much myself.
The only real annoyance, in my opinion, is that the picture is 4:3 letterboxed instead of anamorphic. (I hear that's also how the three new movies are coming out on video in Japan.) But it's not much of a hurdle.
The series is currently available as a single disc with all three episodes on it, but with none of the extras that were on the single releases. Whether that impacts your purchase decision is up to you. You probably won't need to import this one if it's not that vital.

I assume he means the recent movie, with Abe Hiroshi as Kenshiro.
Given that he's talking about importing.
No idea how it is, though.
